OVERVIEW:
The 13th Annual Millennium Music Conference & Showcase will be held February 12-15, 2009 at the Radisson Penn Harris Hotel & Convention Center in Camp Hill, PA MMC will feature 2 full days of music business keynotes, panels, clinics, workshops, mentoring & demo listening sessions and trade show.
The event celebrates new music with 4 nights of showcase performances by over 300 original acts and artists on 30 stages in and around The City of Harrisburg, PA Since 1997, the conference & showcase has become one of the premier music events on the East Coast. Music industry professionals attend as panelists, speakers, mentors, exhibitors and talent scouts to network, do business and share their experience with musicians, registrants and attendees. The community joins in the celebration of emerging talent, independent artists and new music.
CONFERENCE:
In 2009 the Millennium Music Conference will feature 2 afternoons of music business keynotes, panels, clinics, workshops, mentoring & demo listening sessions and trade show. It's the opportunity to meet and learn from music producers, managers, agents, promoters, talent buyers, publicists, publishers, studio engineers, radio station executives, attorneys, songwriters, recording artists, CD manufacturers and distributors, independent and major record label representatives. If you are a musician, have a music industry related business or want to get into the business you should register to attend this event.
Panels, clinics and workshops discuss topical issues and examine technological advances that impact the future of musicians, music and the music business. Don't miss the opportunity to participate in the seminars, network on the trade show floor, perform on the convention center day stages and sign-up for the "one-on-one" mentoring & demo listening sessions.
SHOWCASES & SUBMISSIONS TO SHOWCASE:
Millennium Music Conference Showcases create an exciting and valuable platform for new talent. Performing at the annual event and networking with other musicians, music industry professionals and music fans in this unique conference environment could be integral to your career. MMC will select over 250 unsigned, independent acts and artists to showcase on 30 stages in and around Harrisburg, PA.
All showcases are open to the public, most are free, and most all genres are represented. All selected acts recieve Performers Credentials to attend the afternoon busines sessions at the Radisson Penn Harris Convention Center.
The showcase submission deadline is December 8, 2008 and the fee is still only $20. All acts and artists must submit to be considered. Early selections are made in late October and November of 2008 and final notifications begin on December 15, 2008 and continue until complete.
Last year 231 Sonicbids acts were selected for MMC12. The best way to submit for showcase consideration is to apply online through Sonicbids with an electronic press kit.
MMC also accepts submissions through the US Mail. Simply mail in the official showcase application and fee with a complete press kit including 3 original songs. Acts can also use an active and updated site on myspace, pure volume, unshung hero or virb.com in lieu of the traditional press kit.

CONFERENCE REGISTRATION:
Early regular registration for the Millennium Music Conference is only $55.00 per person if completed before December 8, 2008. Discounted full registration for showcasing acts, students, military, NARAS, BMI, and SEASAC members is $55.00 until January 29, 2009. This conference is the most affordable and musician friendly event of it's kind in the country. You, your band or music industry related business need to be represented at this event. Networking at this music conference will provide you with the tools and contacts to take your music business skills to the next level; but you must register to attend and receive the MMC laminate.
All registrants receive a personalized All Access laminate good for all 4 Nights and 3 Days of official conference and showcase events. Registrants receive a listing in and copy of the Conference Directory, the Compilation CD and the Buzz Bag full of promotional items and creative conference inserts. Your personalized All Access conference laminate is also good for entrance into hospitality parties and discounts from the host hotel, exhibitors, advertisers, sponsors and select restaurants during the event.

In 2009 the Millennium Music Conference will be based at the Radisson Penn Harris Hotel & Convention Center just across the river from downtown Harrisburg in Camp Hill, PA The host hotel and conference center is two minutes from all inner-city showcase venues and restaurants, the State Capitol Complex, Regional Transportation Center and is just 15 minutes from Harrisburg International Airport.
The Radisson Penn Harris is where you'll want to be and where all the action is during the conference weekend. INTERNS, VOLUNTEERS & REGISTRATION SCHOLARSHIPS:
Each year the conference has about 20 positions for staff. The director also awards registration scholarships for musicians or acts that have submitted, travel a long distance or for individuals and acts that can express hardship. Interested parties should communicate their interest in scholarship opportunities to the conference director after August 15, 2008 and no later than January 12, 2009.
