About Me

I like em dashes and ellipses ... they generate timing, pause and often comedic rhythm.
Sometimes the best way to describe the way people are talking is to describe it by genre or font. Neither of which apply to talking but it is funny to say, "Don't take that Papyrus tone with me!" or "She changed mid-sentence from romantic-comedy to noir." (OK I've yet to actually use sentences like this but I have said that someone's tone font had changed.) (Did you ever notice that sometimes people tell stories in essay format? They intro, tell story and then summarize.)
I'd really like to incorporate "fortnight" into my natural vocabulary.
I'd like to live in a musical and break out into song and choreographed dancing. I really enjoy choreographed dancing (as an observer ... I've never tried it as a dancer.)
I like puppets.
I like Coca-Cola. And by saying this I am including beverage, emotion, concept and paraphernalia. I believe there is a difference - a distinct difference - between Coke in a bottle, Coke in a can, Coke in a can from the Western United States versus Coke in a can from the Eastern United States and every geographic location thereafter. I prefer Southern California Coke in a can. I dislike Mexican Coke - it is too sugary. Coke in a plastic cup vs. Coke in a can vs. Coke in a glass with ice vs. Coke in bottle vs. Flat Coke vs. fast food Coke - these are all different tastes and on different days at different times I may have a specific desire for any one of those. Flat coke should be served warm. Coke in a can should be served refrigerator cold, opened immediately and have one long swig taken out of it immediately - to the point that it is PAINFUL in the back of your throat. Coca-Cola flavored candy is gross because it just tastes like the fizz and the fizz should be avoided at all costs. As for paraphernelia I have a wide variety of "collectibles" and I have decided to thin the scope of my future purchases (and hopefully gifts). I like Coca-Cola from the FIFTIES and from the THIRTIES. So we're talking black and white checkerboard floors and plastic diner chairs and depression era cafe Coke.
I prefer purple straws to green straws (kudos if you get the reference) and though it is a huge generalization - I think restaurants with black straws are just cooler.
"I prefer boots to ballet slippers." (And if you get that reference I probably want to marry you ... or at least befriend you.)
- I believe coincidences are communications from the universe.
- I rarely do things consistently the same way three or more times in a row. (Just look... I had no dashes... now I do!)
- I don't like the ocean but I must live near a body of water. But the ocean itself is creepy. Plus I get sea sick. Starfish disgust me (after watching an unpleasant documentary about how starfish eat). Dolphins, some whales, sea otters and sea lions are about it for "cool animals of the sea." Maybe some seals. But after thinking about it... I don't like fish as a rule. But California rolls are OK. And Tuna for me to the eating. I like it the tuna.
- Coffee/caffeine is never good for productivity. It is, however, good for gaseousness and random-ass blog entries.
- I overthink, overprocess and overdo. Yet I'm also lazy (and nocturnal) ... like a cat.
* And oh yeah... have you noticed? I kinda like movies. A lot. I've got one of those degrees (a Bachelors of Fine Art... I worked my ass off for that "F" so you better say it!) in Film. And I'm working on a second degree (this time a BS) in Web Design and Interactive Media. But ultimately I intend to write novels. (Beginning with this About Me section.)

My Interests

Vampire boys (and girls too), sea-foam green and florescent pink (not necessarily together), girls with "M" names (i.e. Mandy Moore), collecting things (zippos, knives, swords), writing, self-deprecation (but I HATE being teased past a certain point - like it's only OK when I do it), doodling , reading fantasy novels, obsessing, traveling, mental hypochondria (I just wanna belong!!), dogs, talking about myself (I'm a Leo. It's what I do.), being weird, cheddar cheese, SOUR CREAM, food with bite (sundried tomatoes, goat cheese, hummus, capers, olives), the charcoal lines on grilled meats, DISNEYLAND, fake blood and other fun with special effects horror make-up, taking pictures of signs

I'd like to meet:

Girls who can play Kate Winslet to my Melanie Lynskey for an awesome Halloween costumed couple! (Or a red headed werewolf for the same reason.) Spiritual people (meaning you're open-minded and question reality) (i.e. you believe in ghosts, psychics, mediums, and don't necessarily subscribe to just one religion). (Yet, who also have at least one foot on the ground... keep your mind open... but keep questioning!) People who like blue-black (or purple-black) and blue-black movies (i.e. Donnie Darko, The Crow). People with morals (who have a wicked dark side). People who like to make mix CDs and share new music they've heard. Fans of movies that FUCK WITH YOUR MIND! (But not in a 'trip out while listening to Pink Floyd and watching the Wizard of Oz' kind of mind fuck. Rather, I'm referring to the M. Night Shaymalan type.)

Music:

Beyond my adoration of mix tapes/cds/various artists soundtracks - I also specifically love Sarah McLachlan, Enya, Evanescence, Loreen McKennitt, Secret Garden, Enigma, Johnny Hollow, Dolly Parton, Madonna, Imogen Heap, Fisher, Gilli Moon, Jenny Lewis, Sara Bareilles, Feist, Antigone Rising, Mert Icgoren, and BROADWAY MUSICALS (Les Miserables, Beauty and the Beast, Rent, Chicago, Color Purple, Jersey Boys, etc. etc.)
