Hot Vibes Magazine is an online/offline music magazine that was started in January of 2001 in order to give back to music fans everywhere. Tired of seeing fifty year old reporters ask musicians the same boring questions, the all female staff decided to take it upon themselves to change how people viewed journalists. Despite their young ages, the teenage girls set out to make an .. magazine that would bring the fans closer to their favorite artists through exclusive interviews, contests, and concert reviews. With that in mind there was only one problem ... What’s next? Without help or funding, the girls created a website, set up interviews with local artists, and made contacts with their spare time and money hoping Hot Vibes would eventually take off.
&nbspFive and a half years, and 190,000+ hits later, the girls continue to pursue their dreams of creating a successful magazine. Since 2001, they’ve landed interviews with well known acts like, Simple Plan, Hoobastank, The Click Five, New Found Glory, Jesse McCartney, Something Corporate, and more. They’ve covered various events in the New England and Tri State Areas including the Boston Music Awards, video shoots for pop acts Katelyn Tarver and PLAY, and have even been featured in other magazines. The website also provides fans with pictures, CD reviews, and one of a kind contests (which in the past have included a pizza party with LMNT, and a chance to spend New Years Eve with the new singing sensation Dustin James).
&nbspWith all of their success it came as no surprise as they watched other .. magazines run by teens pop up on the net like wildfire. Once again setting themselves apart from the crowd, the girls decided it was time to get serious and take Hot Vibes Magazine to print. They had several meetings to discuss the details of the offline version and decided to make it into an entertainment newspaper. Similar to the website the offline version features interviews, concerts reviews, and exclusive contests with artists they support. Thanks to fundraisers, donations, and your purchases the girls raised enough money to come out with the first issue of their magazine in July 2003.
&nbspSince the release of their first offline edition three years have passed, music has changed, and the staff has matured. The girls have not yet released a second issue, but wish to do so in the future. Currently they spend their spare time working in and around the music business.
