In August 2000 Kidd Dynamo recorded live for "The Session In Northern Ireland" The track "Like The Cars" won the "Across The Line - Demolition Derby" in May 2001. As a result they played with My Vitrol, Wilt and Gary Lightbody at the Conor Hall, Belfast. The bands entire live set was broadcast on radio the following week.
An e.p "Always Turn Away" (dodgy stereo) and two singles "I Am A Landslide" and "New Space / What's Yours Is Never Mine" (No Dancing Records) were released.
Shows in the U.K, France and the U.S followed. The band have played with Supergrass, Johnathan Richman, The Preston School Of Industry and Smog. Colin's acclaimed solo performances have seen him support Joan Armatrading, Hugh Cornwell, The Handsome Family, Iain Archer and David Kitt. He also toured with The Reindeer Section.
In 2005 Bob Coker and Stevie McKeever joined the band. New songs began to take shape and the band started to play in various New York clubs to strippers, down n' outs and whoever else would listen. This included a residency in NY venue The Baggot Inn. The gigs were cut short in August 2006 when Colin's left hand became partially paralysed due to Radial Nerve Palsy...
Kidd Dynamo will be back in action by October 2006 with more live shows...2006/7 should see the recording of a new single/ e.p/ album... whatever...
