As The Sea Parts

About Me

"As The Sea Parts" Was Created In Early 1995 By The Ideas Of Paul Vanderslice. Over The First Few Months Of Creation, Paul Wrote A Few Songs That Are In The Vein Of Anathema, My Dying Bride, Death & Cynic. This Mixture Has Influenced The Unique Sound Of A.T.S.P. Creating An Atmospheric & Melodic Doom/Death Style. Unable To Unleash His Songs Upon The Underground, Paul Found Erik Sayenga Of The Band "Witch-Hunt", Erik Was Interested In Recording Bass & Drums In The Studio With Paul. August 14th, 1995, A.T.S.P. Entered Neptune Studios To Record Three Sorrowful Hymns Of Despair. After Final Duplication, "Trilogy Of Sorrow" Was Released To The Underground In Early 1996.In 1996, Scott Loose ,( of Brave, While Heaven Wept, and Human Theory), and myself began working on new material and wrote 2 songs. In December of 1996 things were put on hold due to situations out of my control until 1998 when I started writing the third and last song that was written for the 3 song EP in 1999 entitled ...And the Journey Begins. In 1999 Jason Ian-Vaughn Eckert - bass ,( ex Aurora Borealis, ex Rain Fell Within, currently in Todesbonden), Erik Sayenga ,( ex Witch-Hunt, ex Dying Fetus, currently in Warthrone), Scott Loose, and myself entered Night Sky Studios in Maryland and began recording. This recording was never completed and was the last thing As The Sea Parts has done as a band. Only seven years later has it begun again from a hiatus. More info to follow.
