My Interests

Music:

Influences: My first influence was Hank Marvin and The Shadows. I then became a big fan of Peter Green and also Andy Powell and Ted Turner from Wishbone Ash. Hendrix blues playing also had a big impact on me and more recently SRV and Gary Moore. When I was in my teens I got a Polydor double vinyl album, which I still own, which included tracks by Jan Akkerman, John McLaughlin, Roy Buchanan, Rory Gallagher, Shuggie Otis, Link Wray, Rory Gallagher, Jimi Hendrix, Freddie, Albert and B.B. King, Duane Allman , Mick Taylor and more and that was a great introduction to some of the older blues players as well as the new breed. If you come across a copy of this album pick it up. It still stands up today some 33 years after it's release. That fuelled my appetite for blues based music. I particularly liked Peter Greens sound and phrasing and sought out all the albums. I also liked the melodic rock of Wishbone Ash and their beautiful harmony lead guitar parts, something I'd first heard on Fleetwood Macs Albatross. So I have probably been influenced by all of the above, plus Danny Gatton, Albert Lee, Django Rheinhardt, Larry Carlton and maybe a few more.
Sounds Like: Gary Moore Stevie Ray Vaughan Peter Green Wishbone Ash Jimi Hendrix B.B King Albert King Freddie King Roy BuchananI wish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Peavey Valve King Amps

After many years using Marshall Amps I recently was forced to buy a back up due to another failure of my TSL 122. I had just read the review of the Valve King 112 combo and tried it out. Although they...
