About Me

With their influence coming from many a diverse background, th' Great Outdoors produce music that arrives from a place even they don't know how to get to. It's uncompromising intimacy coupled with explosive energy. It's subtle genuinity inside a structured complexity. It's never short but they're usually late.

Praise for Th' Great Outdoors...Th' Great Outdoors are more than middle-of-the-road Indie Pop-Rock. Rockier than most mainstream indie bands, at the same time they are more chilled and feel-good. There is a dash of rock, funk, indie, prog and even some Hendrix-esque guitar moments. Catchy, accessible, danceable, groovy, thoughtful and rocking - Th’ Great Outdoors are all of these. It strikes me that they belong on the radio; there is certainly a place in the mainstream music scene for these guys. They are technically apt as individuals, and are tight as a group. The frontman is softly spoken, quiet and friendly with the crowd. All in all, an enjoyable live experience : a good sound – Webster, Mar 06
Th' Great Outdoors deliver a sound that is surely big and beautiful. There's a layed back, rugged open feel with a tite but loose thing on drums. Two guitars work away furiously with bass, yet the wild upbeat stuff gives way to a folky, Celtic mood, with searching vocal, haunting bass lines and a compelling vibe that is vaguely Floyd like. These guys cover a lot of ground. Sophisticated stuff that's surprisingly easy to get a handle on – Neon Promotions, Jan 08
