US National Showcase Championships Senior Duet Program
"Adam & Eve"COMPETITIONS & SHOWS:
2008 is here and with it a full schedule of tests/competitions & shows.
February is the Gold Field Moves Test and Silver Pairs. March will be the completion of my Gold Dance test and Senior Artistic competition at Skate Aloha. After that it will be time to pack my bags for 12 days in the beautiful village of Lake Placid ,New York for the 2008 US National Adult Figure Skating Championships. When I return from New York I will have a couple weeks to prepare for our local Ice Show here in Hawaii. June it's off to Mexico to compete at the Tri-America's International Figure Skating Championships. Once home from Mexico my training will be focused on the US National Showcase in Minnesota this August. From there a vacation! And then back to work in preparation for my International Dances in November.
I love to compete and am looking forward to a busy but exciting schedule this season!
Me as an animinated skater....
Dad and me at Paine Field Airshow. That's me at the controls of a Cobra gunship.
I also LOVE military aviation! My father is retired Army helicopter pilot and had I not been a skater, I would have pursued a carreer in aviation. Whenever possibe I love to attend airshows. There is not as many here in Hawaii as I had growing up in Seattle and no Apache unit here :( When skating slows down, I will get my pilots licence....a ceasna hardl compares to the almighty rotar, but I'll make do :)
Blue Dragonfly....for those who dance in silence
So I live on a tropical island what can I say... I love the ocean! Surfing, snorkeling, swimming, sailing you name it, If it's over, under,in or above the water Iam game! I also love to dance...ballroom, salsa, and beach parties, especially Hula--don't laugh, it's actually really challanging!
That would be me on Waikiki Beach @ sunset...yeah,I know---I look like a flower arrangement! lol
Here Iam with my tribal sisters back stage before a show!
one of my favorite things to do on a day off....pack up the new car for a day at the beach or a leisurly cruise around the island......Travel has and always will be a big part of my life. I was an exchange student my entire senior year of Highschool in Sweden. A life changing experience. Ive worked in Europe as well, I absolutly adore it there! I love european culture and history. I also have to admit I have a major weakness for the guys and the accents, Oh La La! I speak Swedish fluently and am conversational in German and Norweigen....I can read Danish--don't ask me to speak it:o) I feel you really learn the most from a country by emersing yourself in their language. Iam American by birth, but view myself more as a citizen of the world. Scandinavia is my second home and if I were not living in Hawaii..that is where I would be!
As for my personality...Iam very outgoing, shy is not part of my vocabulary. In my chosen career field that is a must! I love to be challanged hence why I love comepetitions!
I also belong to a performing hula group, It gives me a chance to connect to the culture of these islands as well as learn a ancient art form..Yep, That is me getting a personal song from Wayne Brady ( sang "Im bringing skating back" to Justin Timberlake's song)

Always up for meeting new people! I have a global network of friends all over the world...
Would love to sit and chat with Sting...he is so deep!
Sonja Henie & Gillis Grafstrom: the founders of skating, if only I could go back in time!
Ok well, Jude Law..he's hot. (Im such a sucker for those european accents!)
...And of course drum roll please...Johnny Depp!
Nev Hawakins....someday Nev, somewhere....
One of my all time favorite performances , Kurt Browning's "Singing in the Rain"
I love all kinds of music, truely. Music is an extension of our emotions and so expressive, I can't say there is any music that hate.
My favorite artist by far is Sting. He is truley poetic how he writes his lyrics. I love ethnic music as well as classical. Iam a new fan of Oprea Trance as well. I even love a little Frank Sinatra once in a while :o)
My favorite European Artists are Xavier Naidoo, from Germany and France Gall, Enigma and Deep Forest from France.I like industrial, trance and techno(Germany has some great sounds) Ifyou know any great artists please feel free to write me, Im always looking for new music!
My all time favorite movie:
"The Big Blue"
Also on my short but distinguished list:
"The Beach"
" Gattaca"
" The Thomas Crowne Affair"
***Note these are not your typical american high tech films, in fact The Big Blue is French!
What I love most about these 4 movies is that when you are done watching them you still are left thinking about them and their stories days after you see them. I love a good film that makes you think, that does not just try and impress it's audience with fancy special effects and over paid actors. * with the exception of Leonardo DiCaprio, over paid actor, but it was the story not the acting that made this one of my favorites
Television has been taken over by "reality TV", at least in america it has. I love how Sweden had "Expedition Robinsson" years before CBS made "Survivior" a major hit! Do you ever hear about that on TV ? I think I heard mention of that fact once on the news.....Ugh, and then there's the "news"...have you ever seen the movie "Wag the dog"? I could really start to get into that topic but I will just leave this comment with a simple, No, I do not watch that much TV, when I do it's a short list:
* Lost
*CNN
*The Travel Chanel
*MTV
*The Olympics (when they are on)
On location at the "LOST" set in Hawaii---so realistic!
I love to read! Traveling provides plently of book hours since flying anywhere from Hawaii is a gaurenteed miniumum 5 and half hours.! I love anything Micheal Chrichton puts on paper, anyone who can explain quantum physics and make it not only informative but intresting should be commended on his literary genius! I also loved The lord of the flies, ( not rings guys..FLIES, no impish- little- ring -hording- critters in this book.) Tom Clancey books are always good for an adventure. The Clan of the cave Bear series was great too. Ive read one romance novel in my life..uh..no. One of my favorites is "Plillars of the Earth"I also just finished "Memoirs of a Geisha", this is one you want to read BEFORE seeing the movie!. I quite literaly finished the book, rented the movie, bought the soundtrack and statred the choreography all in one day, what can I say, pure inspiration!
My latest book was "Memoirs of a Geisha", great book, a must read BEFORE you see the film!
Our armed forces are the real American Heros! Freedom isn't free. These brave Men and woman put it all on the line everyday and for that, that have my eternal gratitude and love, Thank You!
..My Father, with out a doubt! helicopter pilot extrodinaire!
And then of course there is Mom, the grounding force of the Jones family..trust me, Dad and I need quite a bit of grounding! She is the best Mom! There with a hot bowl of home made chicken noodle soup when ya need it and kick in the butt when ya need one of those too!
Here we are at the 2005 US National Showcase...
