A London born Jamaican, grew up in the city of Dulwich. Loved every bit of the mixed cultural surroundings. Had Bermondsey on one side and Peckham on the other destined to be crazy.
Grew up following the sound systems of the 80s Saxon, Coxon and Sloane real good times with good reggae/soul/rare groove music. Influenced firstly by family when Maxi Priest hit the headlines, we all knew at least it was possible to leave the ghetto and strike fame.
Raving was every weekend and I knew nothing but loud music and a good time. There was a real sense of community in the 80s/90s when I spent so much time around friends and family. At Christmas we had a party at every uncle's house!
Well, as pure luck, I was in Covent Garden at the spot where I met the Drifters manager Fay Treadwell, me and my friend Roy took over her pre-booked table, unknowing of course. Well that was my good fortune as I got talking to her friend Adrian who is the Michael J decoy/look-alike. To the chase I sang, interviewed a couple of days and the third day was in Ireland singing on tour with the Drifters. "Yes just like that!"
Well, ever since I've been writing, producing, performing to take my luck that little bit further I can honestly say it's been a rollercoaster ride of a lifetime. So may as well go all the way!
