About Me

Myspace Layouts - Myspace Editor

After three years in the wilderness after the split of their previous band Freewheeler in 2002, Andy and Declan decided to give the covers game a go and, after recruiting drummer Mark, formed Northern Vinyl in late 2005. The lads quickly went about rehearsing a set of classics by bands such as the Who, the Jam, the Faces, the Stones, Elvis Costello etc and found themselves well suited to the three piece set up, as each of the band are experienced musicians.

Arming themselves with a set containing upwards of 30 songs in 3 short months, the band played their first gig on 3rd March 2006 and have continued to expand their set and play more and more gigs across Leeds and Wakefield. The list of upcoming gigs is constantly increasing, as is the band's reputation!

There are three rough demos above, recorded from one of our early rehearsal sessions. More up to date (and polished!) songs will be here soon.

Here's a clip of us playing Ask by the Smiths from one of our first gigs in March '06. More Clips to come!

Update

2006 has been a great year for us, which has resulted in us having 30 gigs under our belt and a repetoire of around 70 songs to choose from, not bad going for a bands first year! The reaction we have got from the audiences has been amazing and we're hoping to builld on this during the coming year. Look out for more news, pics and video clips soon, see you at the next gig!
New Vids

Here's a clip of us playing Chelsea Dagger at Kev and Jayne's wedding at the Irish Centre in Leeds recently, sound quality isnt great but you get the idea!

2 clips here, Substitute and Itchycoo Park from the gig at the Queens Arms Bridlington. These are the first songs of the set, things got very rowdy after this, the crowd there were amazing!p
