The foundations for Herbert Boeses love for music were laid at an early stage in his life. Born on the 14th of june, 1972 in Bonn ( NRW / Germany ) and growing up to the sound of the 80ies he was first exposed to Hip Hop and Funk in 1987. These impressions provided the basis for his later work and musical creativity. He began DJing and collecting records and his first bookings soon followed. His passion for dope beats then was joined by the fascination of a straight bass drum and consequently with House and Techno. After beginning his career working at the Groove Attack record store in 1994 in Cologne a move to Düsseldorf followed in 1997. There Herbert Boese took over the management of the Geo record shop for one year. In 1998 he finally opened up his very own record store Flipside and quit his studies to fully dedicate himself to his passion.
Herbert Boeses DJ sets are embossed with a comprehensive and tasteful mix of music from over 20 years of dance history. Chicago and Acid House are skilfully intertwined with Minimal, Techno and true Deep House music. Since late 2002 Herbert Boese held a residency at the Harpune Club located in the trendy so-called media harbour in Düsseldorf. His distinctive sound has helped to develop and establish the location within its 5 years of endurance. The club, being one of Germanys finest, was known nationwide for innovative electronic dance music. January 2008 saw the start of his new residency at Monkey's Club located on Duesseldorf's Königsallee. Furthermore he plays regularly the Heimatmelodie parties at Hotel Shanghai in Essen.
With his unique style Herbert Boese has earned himself bookings all over Germany and beyond its borders. Having built up his reputation as a DJ over the past decade the consequent next step was to begin producing his own tracks. In 2005 Herbert Boeses label Jaktronik Rekords in cooperation with Marc Romboy of Systematic Recordings fame was founded. With the help of many fellow DJs his first single times up became one of the most successful underground techhouse records. The beginning of 2006 saw his second release charger. Another important step was the Herbert Boese remix of John Dahlbäck out on Systematic Recordings which has stirred quite a buzz since the end of May 2006. Since then more 12 inches and remixes follwed and his tracks were played by the likes of Laurent Garnier, Josh Wink, Slam, Andrew Weatheral, Loco Dice, Moguai and Westbam, to name but a few. Look out for more releases, remixes and, of course, rocking parties coming up in the near future.
