Within the Spirit

About Me

Born mostly Scottish, adopted, and raised purely Italian in the Bay Area of California. Studied the piano from the time I could reach the keys. Lived, worked, and studied in Munich/Hamburg, Germany, and Rome, Italy... where part of the soul still wanders the cobblestones. Continued studies in San Francisco. Littleflower came to be in the summer of 1999, and the world began.

Married (the Portuguese drummer...lol), started raising a family with a rose of happiness and a breath of life.

Waiting for the world to hear what my soul has to sing.

Thoughts welcomed. Leave a little window open to your soul.

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: When we are Littleflower, I am blessed to have musicians who can follow me where I may lead them, and who will always bring me back home.

Those walking the path with me are Fernando Silveira, percussion/backing vocals, and Larry Mendonça, guitar/bass/occasional backing vocals on songs he likes/world's greatest roadie (he has all the gear). Fernando and Larry are the foundation which I stand upon. Without them, and their hold on me, I might wander off too far. It is good to have a base on which to anchor to.

I am fortunate enough to write the songs, play the piano, and fiddle with the cool collection of indigenous percussion instruments...and these guys let me.

What trusting souls.

Yet, none of this would have been possible without my muse. I am only the catalyst that gives melody to his poetry. Our silent voice is Br. Allen Marie Hornbuckle , lyricist/percussionist extrodinarie (talk about a collection of exotic instruments). He started me on the path of creation. Before we met, I was only interpreting other's dreams. It was he that convinced me never to toss away lightly what one has been inspired to create...you never know what greatness might lie at the bottom of the waste bin, says he.

So with the windows to his soul open, I began to play a simple tune...and the rest is history in the making.
Influences: Whatever can move me to another place, that is what influences and guides me...

Andrea Bocelli, Cecilia Bartoli, Placido Domingo, Sting, Gypsy Kings, Antonio Banderas, Harry Connick, Jr., Brandford Marsalis, Michael Buble, Diana Krall, Tuck & Patti, Chris Issak, Jaime Cortez, Elizando Cortez, Dona Peña, Tom Booth, Jessi Manibusan, Fr. Ho, Eros Ramazotti, Paolo Valesi, Dulce Ponce, my "renegade Picasso" TainoLeón, l'allegria, l'aria mia, e l'andante via...

Those are only a few vocalists that can transport me to another realm. Only imagine what the instrumentalists can do.
Sounds Like: I had never been told until just yesterday. It is said that I sound like Laura Nyro. What a lovely thought.

Please keep in mind that the recordings were not done in a studio. They truely are the epitomy of garage recordings. Yet, they are better than nothing. xo

Bookings: If you are interested in a booking, or if you are interested in working together, please email me .
Record Label: someday...
Type of Label: None
