About Me
At the beginning of 1993 Oliver Müller and Kay Jaeger founded Cyber Axis. During 1993 they produced their first demo-tape, which attracted attention at various european electro magazines. In the second year of the existence of Cyber Axis the events tumbled. Together with the management of ''Other Noises'', Cyber Axis produced the famous ''Illusions''-tape.
In 1994 the band signed at ''Paradise Rising'' and recorded its debut album in autumn. This was the time, when Julie Schott joined the band. Finally in 1995 the debut album The final sign was released. Following the release, Cyber Axis played a lot of concerts to promote the album. Due to the influence of several live-guitarists the style of the music tended towards electro/metal. In September 1995 the maxi The way I feel was released. After finishing the ongoing tour as support of Rammstein, live guitarist Thorsten ''Cheewy'' Scheuermann joined Cyber Axis as a full member.
In March 1996 the album ''Fool energy'', which contained a sleeve design by H.R. Giger, was released. This album lead to a great response. In April/May 1996 the band was on tour with Haan Hartmann (drums) and Marc Herrmann (bass guitar) as additional live musicians. After this tour Kay Jaeger left the band, because of familiar reasons. Following the quit of Kay, Oliver Müller split up with Julie Schott, who therefore also decided to leave the band. This was the time when Oliver Müller announced the preliminary end of Cyber Axis.
As a result of the recording of the debut album ''kunst[stoff]'' of Plastic, which was produced by Oliver Müller, Oliver and the vocalist, keyboarder and guitarist Matthes Ewald decided to re-activate Cyber Axis. This took place in April 2002. At the very beginning of the recording sessions it became clear that a noisy element was missing in order to realise the new understanding of Cyber Axis. Both musicians, Oliver Müller and Matthes Ewald, started searching for the missing element.
In following June Oliver Müller met Axel Kleintjes at a release party of Olivers project Megadump. Axel Kleintjes, former keyboarder and vocalist of such projects as Page 12, Mindware and Cycloon, was invited by Oliver Müller to visit him at the Megaline-Studios in Bochum. Soon it became clear that Oliver found the missing element of Cyber Axis. In this new formation, the three musicians (Oliver Müller, Matthes Ewald and Axel Kleintjes) started recording the album ''Skin''. In March 2003 Cyber Axis initially released the appetizer ''The prophecy'' at Accession Records, followed by the fulltime album ''Skin'' in June 2003. Just before the release of the album, Matthes Ewald left the band as he wanted to focus on his solo project Plastic only. As a worthy successor, Matthes Ewald was replaced by Stefan Galla as the new studio and live guitarist of Cyber Axis in July 2003. The live line-up was completed by Stephan Schierle on drums.
In 2004 and 2005 the band played several concerts and festivals, such as WGT in Leipzig, E-Fest in Geel/Belgium and the Birthquake III in Duisburg. Soon it became clear that Stefan Galla was more than only a substitute for the former guitarist. Therefore Oliver Müller and Axel Kleintjes asked Stefan Galla to join Cyber Axis as a full member in 2005. Since this time Cyber Axis is a trio again. Furthermore Cyber Axis figured out that they need an additional live keyboarder. This vacant position was perfectly filled out by D. Barkey.
At the end of 2005 Cyber Axis seriously started recording new tracks for the upcoming release, which probably will be an EP. You can listen to one of the new songs (''Another system'') on the top of this page.
STAY TUNED!
