I wrote this a couple of years ago. Every now and then, I read it again to remind myself of these words to live by...
A mindless moment passed over
is a breath lost.
Consumed by trivialities and insecurities,
it's easy to lose touch of our hidden aspirations.
Consumed by doubts and fears,
it's easy to hide from the world in exasperation.
Every second away from our womb
we decay away our existence,
for we create resistance and indignance
from fear of letting go.
We run away from the unknown,
never knowing the light
that could have reached us.
We mourn too long over the moment lost,
never realizing what we've gained.
And every breathing moment is too precious,
too sacred,
to dwell in pain.
Create the path that will lead to the unknown
for the rest of our days that remain,
And it shall make up
for every moment
that we lost in vain.
