Music
What is this thing we call music? Well to most, it is a tune or a jam we like to listen to. Or it's words written down on a peice of paper expressing ones feelings or experiences with ones life, past boyfriend, girlfriend, or present events. Whether it be rough, joyous or just simply just random events that take on in a persons life. Some hoping to sell, some write to simply express. It all depends on how you intereperet the vocalists message. A composer could have plans of just making money off of a hit.
Music is to me, as to some others, a subliminal compilation of thought or expression put to a beat, something you can tap your feet to or sing along to. Or better yet, something you can listen to or something that can get into your head, to put it bluntly.
Etymology: sub- + Latin limin-, limen threshold
1 : inadequate to produce a sensation or a perception
2 : existing or functioning below the threshold of consciousness
Or in simple terms something that enters your mind with out you having any awareness. So what music is doing is putting someones thoughts or expressions in your head, becuase of a beat or tune that is catchy, one that catches your senses, and is sent to your mind.
Someone that has reason and thought, feeling, and expression in their music is truely is a music composer, based on this statement, im my personal oppinion. So you have read this, you be the judge of what music really is. Is Icp's "music" about going chicken hunting really classified as music? Or before you judge "Emo" before listening to the lyrics and finding out the story the composer is trying to express. I guess what i'm trying to say is, real music has a story behind it, or a reason. Point being it gets into your head whether you like it or not.
Favorite genre's of music are more prone to opening the mind to deeper thought. (hints)Thoughts expressed in this section are purely opinion
