Myspace Contact TablesHello my name is Jamie Powell, and I am a singer/songwriter from Bournemouth. I have been involved in music for over 10 years. I studied at the Bournemouth and Poole college for 3 years and achieved 2 diplomas in popular music. I play the piano/drums/guitar/sing and songwrite. I have recorded 3 cd’s and have done many gigs around the Bournemouth area, with bands and recently as a solo artist Music is my love, but sadly I am not signed as of yet, so I make my living as a Bingo Caller, which is a lot of fun and I get to use the microphone every night. I wish to make more music and share it with you. The music that is on this page is from a few years ago, but hopefully there will be some new material coming soon on here. I hope you enjoy listening to my music and please feel free to comment, good or bad, an opinion is always welcome! Thanks and have a nice dayKaren Louise is a big influence, her music is truly an inspiration to myself, please watch her new video "Falling" which is available to download now!I have a wonderful Family - Mum, Dad, Ken (Bro) and Gran who have always been kind loving and supportive I have one true best friend who has always been by my side when I needed him - Andy - who is a amazing musician/singer/DJ. I love movies. I can watch any type of film, I love anything from Comedy to Horror. I have a large dvd collection, and I love discussing movies, My top movies are: The Shawshank Redemption (which seems very popular) American Splendor, The Terminal, Uncle Buck, Punch Drunk Love, Dodgeball, Groundhog Day, Little Miss Sunshine, V for Vendetta, Children of men, Slither, Hot Fuzz, Back to the future 1/2/3, Lord of the rings 1/2/3, The Truman Show, It could happen to you, Pirates of the Carribean 1/2/3 Rush Hour 1/2/3? I grew up watching Ninja Turtles, Dogtanian, Superted, James the cat, Bucky O’Hare, Hey Arnold, Spongebob Squarepants and recently Avatar the last Airbender! My favourite book is "The wind in the willows" a childhood fave and never been beaten! I go to a lot of conventions and signings, I love meeting people I admire and enjoy their work. The best peeps I have met have to be: Karen Louise, Ellis Paul, Jim Carrey, Will Smith, Kevin Spacey, Ben Folds, Rik Mayall, Nathan Fillion and James Marsters There are some nice photos on my pic page, if you are interested in some of the peeps I have met I love to play pool/snooker/babminton/baseball when I can fit it in. My favourite food is Pizza without a doubt, my fave drink is Tea. I have a knack for the claw games in arcades (random talent lol) I have been on TV before talking about Lemony Snicket and Jim Carrey, I won first prize in a national under 8’s painting competition. I won free tickets to see Jeepers Creepers 2 in the cinema, and then won another competition for Jeepers Creepers 2 on DVD (which was very weird to win both) I also once won a Buffy competition with the newspaper. I met Joss Whedon at a stage door, talked for half an hour before he told me who he was and made a fool of myself lol, I have met Princess Diana (R.I.P), which was when i was at school. I have lost nearly 7 stone since 2004 (now weighing at 14 stone) I enjoy going to concerts with friends. I have met many new people at conventions and concerts, and frequently meet up for events, I love meeting new people. My 2 goals in life are: 1 - Record a proffesional album, 2 - To go to Hollywood. That pretty much sums me up - a singer/songwriter/film buff/bingo caller/ geek from Bournemouth LOL Thanks for reading - regards Jamie x
