About Me

Barry Bloomberg was formed in 1976 by magic, cosmic allignment and two bottles of thunderbirds. After aquiring a deal with parish council records Barry unleashed his debut upon the world in 1983, the electric synth pop joy of, automatik dole child 33.3 which was released to muted acclaim. Said one magazine "its as if kraftwerk never exisited, Theres better music played at close down".

Unperturbed by this Barry Bloomberg went on to release several albums during the eighties which culminated in his finest hour, the double album P45/P60. Which drew heavily from influences as varied as the chicago house scene, music from studio 54 and the calypso funk of the Brazilian Bromley Bacharach Family. It received 9 stars out of ten in the N.M.E, a new rock revolution was starting and he was third in a poll of the 'N.M.E's bands to do well in 1990' behind EMF and Candy Flip.

But that was the last we would hear from Barry Bloomberg, his creativity had dried up and he moved to ibiza as a DJ and promoter introducing such legendary nights as 'FuKd' and 'BloombErg'. He all but gave up on the music scene until 2001 where he met the line up that would become Channyboom an explosive mix of trance/rock/gabba/folk/emo/rap/metalcore/schmindie and village punk fused into band form and set to 8 on a medium wash.

Which takes us to today, the Channyboom experience, including legendary opening nights at the Shrew Rugeley, Alrewas show, and the now mythical Globe island free festival. Catch them while there still pushing back the boundaries at local cricket clubs.
