gold streets is off to Austin for SxSW
gold streets is pleased to announce they will be kicking off
Sundance Film Festival '08 Music on Main January 24th, 2008
Combining thick, textured guitar with weaving bass, perfectly shaped drums, and cascading vocal harmonies is Gold Streets’ specialty. The method of composition varies, but it all “harkens back to the days when 4AD was running things†(Village Voice). Fast garnering a place in a musical landscape most certainly unoccupied by others, Gold Streets is fast-paced with occasional moments of dreaminess, familiar and new all at the same time. After triumphant performances at Hudson River Rocks NYC, CMJ and Sundance Film Festival, Gold Streets is poised for their SXSW debut in March. Be sure to check out their EP "red" (self-released) and their debut album "Looks Like Fireflies" (8x8 Recordings).
Gold Streets has had the great honor to have shared the stage with some amazing bands including: A Place to Bury Strangers, Anathallo, Vampire Weekend, The Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, The Magic Numbers, The Brazilian Girls, and many more.

"As has been the case in the past, this year's [Sundance] festival will feature some great performances by upstarts, such as Gold Streets, and veterans, such as Patti Smith."

"Looks Like Fireflies marks a huge step forward for Gold Streets. I’m really looking forward to where they go next, but for now I’m really enjoying this album."
- Matt Beryant | The Big Take Over
“This fresh NYC based band tears it up with heart stopping rhythms and bass lines that won’t quit. Don’t miss Gold Streets as they make their way towards their destiny A.K.A. stardom.â€
- Hudson River Rocks Festival | www.hudsonriverpark.org
“I hear some influence from the Cure and Cocteau Twins but their sound is completely their own. It’s a fascinating niche of groovy bass, spaced out rock, and split male/female vocals which this bands inhabits and I like everything I’ve heard from them so far.â€
- www.earfarm.com
“Gold Streets crafts a lush, psychedelic sound that renders their particular brand of indie rock powerfully dreamy.â€
- Vanessa Lopez | Block Magazine
“Sonically rich with throbbing bass lines and pulsing waves of guitar, Gold Streets…evokes fellow New York bands such as Straylight Run and stellastarr*.â€
- Snack of the Day | Deli Magazine
“The sound they achieve is their own, and whether they are playing an upbeat, dancey rocker or a more mellow tune, their sound is big. In fact, we were a bit surprised when we first found out the band, with such an expansive guitar sound and propulsive, versatile rhythm section is made up of only three people.â€
