Young Dog has provided sound and lights for some of the best bands in our area, including The Bill Deasy Band, Elmoz Fire, Left On Dorris, The Elliotts, Annasay, Rattlesnake, 70x7, ATF, and Toiz. We have also provided sound for touring bands like The Switch and Saline, and have worked with some terrific singer/songwriters performing on acoustic guitar, including Brad Yoder, Danny Tate, Phil Solem of The Rembrandts, and Dan Navarro of Lowen & Navarro.
Young Dog has worked in a wide variety of venues, ranging from big rooms like The Great Hall at Heinz Field, to fine restaurants like Bossa Nova in downtown Pittsburgh, to country clubs like the Edgewood Country Club in Churchill, to popular hotel night spots like the Four Points Sheraton Prospect Lounge in Greensburg, to Christian coffeehouses like The Sons of God Clubhouse in Harmarville, to large firehalls like Reliant Hose Company 2 in Glassport, and all manner of popular live music venues like Jay's Sports Bar in Southpointe, The University Inn in Moon Township, The Mill Site Tavern in Southside, The Royal Place on Route 88, Rodney's in North Huntingdon, and Potatohead's in Homestead. We have also partnered with churches and local communities for outdoor festivals.

Our 3,000-watt system is perfect for most indoor venues, and our 10,000-watt system will fill large halls and most outdoor venues. For really large halls and heavily-attended outdoor events, our 20,000-watt system provides concert-level sound in a big area. For most indoor applications, Young Dog Sound uses a medium-sized system featuring the B-52 Matrix 2000! Two 18-inch subwoofers and four 12-inch two-way speakers on stands make the FRONT OF HOUSE a cool place to be! With 32 channels of inputs, including 24 high quality XLR mic preamps, nothing gets lost in the mix. Twin 24-bit digital effects processors and 31-band equalization add just the right touch of magic to accentuate the voices and instruments. A hundred feet away from stage, a pro sound engineer delivers the perfect mix for the crowd.
The talent has never sounded so good, because they are using professional
microphones made by Shure, Audix, Oktava and Audio-Technica, all mounted to
pro boomstands and mic-ease drum clips for a clean look on stage. Microphone
models used on stage include wireless Shure Beta 58A, Shure SM87 condenser,
Shure Beta 58, Audix D6, Audix OM5, Audix I5, Oktava MK219 condenser, Audio-Technica
MB4000 condenser, Audio-Technica MB2000, and Audio-Technica Pro41.
On stage, 1200 watts of Crown power pushes four Yamaha BR15M wedges, two Traynor BW-1 side
washes, and two Eminence 10-inch two-way speakers, supplemented by 160 watts of
power pumped through two Galaxy Hotspot monitors strategically mounted on
stands. Total stage coverage ensures that every performer hears the mix they
want at the volume they need.
