I grew up in The Bronx City, which is where hip hop started (ask somebody). As a younger man, I was intrigued by music and the magic of it. But for some reason I was more in tune with the Jamaican Sounds of Reggae Culture and Dancehall. I did everything I could to get my hands on a WALKMAN and started to collect TAPES from the best sounds in the early 80s and 90s: for example Bass Odyssey, Black Kat, Killamanjaro, Stone Love and the like. In the late 80s, I heard an Artist from Panama called El General (like it or not he is the pioneer of Spanish Reggae, but that is a different story all together) and I lost my mind. I was ecstatic with the fact that a Spanish Reggae artist existed and won grammies. Everyday on the train or bus on my way to school and back, I was listening to music and started to know artists by name and genre of music they were involved in. After El General I was impressed by another artist by the name of El Shabakan from Honduras. El Shabakan till this day is still blazzing with fire lyrics and flow. In the 90s I met up with the craziest lyricist and flow master named (back then) Super Gatto. {more on the story i need to go........}Cds
