BRYCE hails from the place where Black Popular Music- as we know it- was born; Detroit, MI. Endowed with the musical essence and creative spirit of Motown's founding fathers (Barry Gordy, Smokie Robinson, & Paul Riser) BRYCE has mastered the ability to create what he has assertingly coined "Black Music". BRYCE's "Black Music" transports you into his vividly-detailed world artfully colored using immaculate rhythmic form and brilliant moral fuction.
"As a rapper [signing hand quotes], I strive to paint as vivid a picture as I possibly can, to allow the audience to literally see what I'm saying. This technique's been mastered by Hip Hop's greatest artists so it's only fitting that I master this as well. Not to mention, most humbly of course, I got impeccable style, from the 'popped-collar Lacoste to the Gucci Loafers in butter suede'- Detroit raised me this way!"
Being the confidently-humble man he is, BRYCE tends to downplay the fact that he, like the late, great Notorious B.I.G. and the heir-apparent Jay-Z, does not write lyrics on paper. "This allows me to be less-manufactured- more like a freestyle. Plus- if he [Jay-Z] is the rap Michael Jordan and Mike shots 300 jumpers for practice I'ma at least do that!"
Another interesting fact about this extraordinarily-talented young man is that he composes and produces ALL of the music for every song (and artist) he and his fellow Adara Records labelmates perform. "I came into music taking piano at 5, but I really exceled with the sax from ages 7-16. Since [from childhood] I was always drawn to how music was put together it was a natural progression that I compose and produce. Funny thing is I started making tracks first in 1998. I just started seriously rhyming in 2000; for a minute my rhymes had to catch up with my tracks! I think we're just about even now [lauging].
