My Interests

The 5 face of Brian: The Holistic Face – Where I’d to become an instructor in Wing Chun, Aikido and Ryu Kyu Kempo. As well as, Tai Chi Chuan and Yoga. I would like to get certified in massage therapy, acupuncture, herbalism and get my personal trainer certificate. Put all that together and open my own business. The Biker Face – I’d like to learn how to ride and repair motorcycles (preferably a Harley Davidson) and play the saxophone. Don’t laugh I also want to be a bounder and a bounty hunter but I out grew that. The Outdoorsy Face - I would like to be more outdoorsy. I’d like to learn how to bow hunt, shoot a rifle, ride and shoe a horse, camp and fish. I admire people like Bear Grylls and Les Stroud and I wish I had there skill base. I’d like to go to Phoenix and learn Aboriginal Living Skills (http://www.alssadventures.com/). I’d like to learn how to crack a whip. Rock climb, rappel and SCUBA dive. The Hollywood Face – I’d like to do something in movies. I’d like to learn how to write a script. Do digital animation, prosthetic make-up and animatronics. And finally …The “Stuff I want to do before I die” Face - Like learn to fly a helicopter, hang glide, Bungee jump.I have a lot of interest. And I have read a little on each subject. I just need to start trying to do some of them.

I'd like to meet:

are people who by just meeting them; having a conversation or an exchange of ideas; enrich my life and help me grow as an individual. People like His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Soke Hatsumi Massaki, Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart, Eric Bischoff, Vincent McMahon, Kurt Angle, Randy Couture, Chuck Liddell, Forrest Griffin, Dana White, Jet Li, Jackie Chan, Chuck Norris, Jason Statham, Matt Furey, Bear Grylls (Discover Channel's Man vs. Wild), Les Stroud ( Survivorman) and Aron Ralston (hiker who cut off his own arm).

Movies:

All Horror movies good or bad, old imported kung fu flicks (Five Deadly Venoms, Flying Guillotine), Van Wilder, Waiting, Jay and Slient Bob Strike Back, The Last Samurai, Best of the Best, All the Rocky movies, all those old 80's Ninja movies and sadly ... the orignal Karate Kid.

Television:

WWE RAW, WWE Smackdown, Ultimate Fighter, Scrubs, Family Guy, South Park, CSI, and Heroes. On Pay per View, WWE Events, UFC Events, ISKA and Boxing.

Books:

The Three Pillars of Zen by Philip Kapleau, Book of 5 Rings by Miyamoto Musashi, Zen and the Brain by James H Austin, The Art of War by Sun Tzu, The Zen Way to the Martial Arts by Taisen Deshimaru, Zen in the Martial Arts by Joe Hyams, Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind by Shunryu Suzuki, Hakagure by Tsunetomo Yamamoto, Bushido the Warrior's Code by Ihazo Nitobe

Heroes:

I don’t believe in heroes. I don’t believe in the whole idealogy that we should strive to be like someone else. With depression being this out of control epidemic we need to stop focusing on our negatives and accentuate our positives. I think the whole “I want to be the next Chuck Norris” or “I want to be just like Chuck Liddell” undermines people’s self-esteem; especially if they fall short of that goal. I think people need to set themselves up as their own heroes and do a little something everyday to reach that goal. It’s okay to admire someone for their accomplishments but you shouldn’t want to be a carbon copy of them. People should want to be themselves and be the best dang version of themselves that they can be. They should believe in the hero inside themselves.
