You'll never experience my ego because my enthusiasm dwarfs it...

About Me

I'm a fun guy (or is it "fungi?"). I dunno. Either way, I like to have fun in whatever I do. Like I say at my job "if you're not having fun at work, then you're just working, and that's no fun".

I think life on Earth is far too short to live it in fear and misery and not take chances. If you never go outside your comfort zone and take a chance, you'll never get anyplace different, you'll just retread old ground. The road less traveled is quite often the one that leads you to something new and possibly more exciting. I try to stay busy and do the things that I love and take chances just to be different and see where it leads me. That usually keeps my mind off most negative things that may befall me.

People who actually know me might say that I'm fun, intelligent, talented, passionate, caring, generous ...I often have people tell me "everybody seems to know you and everybody loves you"... and... well... gee... how can that possibly be a BAD thing?

People who don't know me assume that I'm on drugs or booze or something, but actually, I'm just high on life and my energy stems from being generally enthusiastic. It also comes from running around like the maniac that I am, but what most people don't understand is, energy just breeds more energy. You're not gonna have any vitality if you sit around all day on the couch eating Cheetos and watching the Discovery channel. GET OUT OF THE FRICKIN HOUSE!!!

I'm a singer/musician in two local bands (" Ivory Tiger ", " Maiden America ") plus working on my own original music, work at Guitar Center selling musical equipment, I'm a sports enthusiast (but not a crazy one), it's just another thing I like to do or watch. I like to travel (when time/money allows), sometimes travelling out of town to see a concert that isn't coming to St. Louis (went to Chicago in October to see Iron Maiden).

I also like to do other things on my free time that have nothing to do with music or sales so I can disconnect breifly to maintain some sort of balance. I'm sometimes a loner because I spend most of my days connecting with so many other people that I need time to reconnect with myself.

I like to try new things, go to new places and try new restaurants that have been in town for eternity but I'm just now discovering. I'll add more to my profile when i think of it!

My Interests

Music (performing and playing it, writing it, recording it, listening to it, watching live bands play it), sports (watching the game either live at the arena/stadium or on TV or participating in sporting activities), travel (favorite city to travel to is Chicago), cooking on the grill in the summertime (hell, I'll even grill dinner when it's snowing!), having some alone time to just do whatever I want, having any kind of low-key fun, and getting my rest!

I'd like to meet:

People who are alive! (cuz I think putting deceased people in your "I wanna meet" section is pretty stupid!) I'd like to meet people who like good music, people who have a level head on their shoulders, people who have a heart and have manners and know how to treat another human being. I'm on here to make new friends, new connections, find some things in common with new people, and get my name out there as a musician. As far as I'm concerned, "A stranger is just a friend you haven't met yet".

I'd like to NOT meet : Porn queens who are just here to get their start in the porn business or to just see how many guys they can collect on their friends list.

Secondly, if you send me an add request and I don't know you and you don't have a photo or anything on you profile, I'm going to deny you.

And I'm not going to add bands that just don't strike my fancy. I'll give everyone a chance, but I want to be able to go through my friends list and find people to say "hey....just saying hello" without a bunch of other people in my way who are just trying to see how many people they can collect without actually making an effort to BE their friend. (rant over... end transmission...)

Music:

The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Black Sabbath, Rush, Iron Maiden, Scorpions, Deep Purple, AC/DC, Cheap Trick, Kiss, The Who, The Darkness, Silvertide, Lenny Kravitz, Zebra, Kings X, Motorhead, Jet ... the list is practically endless when it comes to good glam rock / hard rock / heavy metal from the 60's, 70's, 80's and beyond. If it's new, it has to have something in it that just grabs me, otherwise, I'm not interested. Music is so subjective, eveyone is right in what they choose to listen to, cuz music is what feelings sound like.

Movies:

"This Is Spinal Tap" , the best movie ever! (but most non-musicians don't even understand it). I love anything Monty Python affiliated, especially "The Holy Grail". I prefer funny movies like Mrs. Doubtfire ("It was a run-by fruiting..."), "Big", and the classics like "The Jerk" and "Caddyshack".

Television:

Comedies and sports.

Friends, Everybody Loves Raymond, Sex and the City, America's Funniest Home Videos, Will And Grace, Cardinals baseball (or baseball in general), NFL football, NHL hockey, World Cup soccer, But other than that, I'll just watch some DVD's I own or have rented

Books:

I seem to prefer biographies or sometimes the odd "self help" book, (depends on what it is), and also, cookbooks...cuz I kinda get sick of eating the same things over and over and I like to try to make something I haven't done before.

Currently reading a few different books, as I'm always thumbing through and reading bits of "Dear Boy - the life of Keith Moon (drummer for The Who)", "Many Years From Now" (a book about Paul McCartney from the Beatles days on up to the death of his wife/soulmate, Linda Eastman), "The Real Frank Zappa Book (which is hilarious, if you ever find a copy), and currently reading "Losing my Virginity", an autobiography by Richard Branson (founder of Virgin Records and Virgin Airlines).

Heroes:

Paul McCartney (my first major musical influence), Frank Zappa (everyone thought he did drugs, but he was just born weird, like ME!), Leonardo Da Vinci (amazingly gifted artist and thinker), Albert Einstein (genius!), Winston Churchill (Brilliant!!!), anyone who goes into the military and fights for our freedom
