About Me

Sifu Qaasim Munoz began his training under his cousin Keith Anderson in Qi Gong, Monkey style Kung Fu and Tai Chi at the age of eleven. After a few months, he had cleared up his asthmatic condition and realized the relationship between martial arts and medicine. In early 1995, Qaasim began training in his chosen art of Hung Ga Kung Fu under Master Pedro C. Yee. Qaasim earned his Jo Gow (black sash) and became a Yup Sut (in the room) Disciple of Master Pedro C. Yee. In 2005, Qaasim attained his full Sifu rank, which is the final examination set forth by the Yee’s Hung Ga International Kung Fu Association. Around the same time, he was also voted in as a Senior Governing Board Member of Yee’s Hung Ga International Kung fu Association. During this time, he also furthered his studies in massage therapy at the Helma Institute of Massage Therapy, graduating in 2001. In 2002, Qaasim followed in the footsteps of his Sifu by studying TCM and specializing in Tuina from Taoist Priest Bill Helm at the Taoist Sanctuary in San Diego, California. He soon became an AOBTA® Certified Practitioner and later the Membership Chair of the New Jersey Chapter of the AOBTA®. At present Qaasim is Head Instructor of the Clifton New Jersey branch of Yee’s Hung Ga International Kung Fu Association. In addition, Qaasim also has a growing Tuina practice in Clifton NJ area.
