About Me

Sifu Sam Libby began his training under Master Pedro Cepero Yee at the age of 16. Since joining Yee's Hung Ga he has competed in both national and international competitions placing in hand forms, weapon forms, and fighting. He has had the privilege of performing lion dance and demonstrations with his Sifu in New York's Chinatown and abroad. In 2006 he attained his Jo Gow (Assistant Instructor) rank (Black Belt equivalent) and recently had the honor of becoming a Yup Sut (in the room) disciple under his teacher. Sifu Sam has also studied Swedish Massage Therapy, Shiatsu, Reflexology and Sports Massage at the Helma Institute of Massage therapy. After receiving his massage therapy certification, he is continuing his education by studying Tuina - Chinese Bodywork Therapy under his Sifu, Pedro Cepero Yee and Bone Setting (Dit Da) Medicine under his SiGung, Grandmaster Frank Yee. Most recently Sifu Libby competed at "The First Annual Hong Kong International Praying Mantis Martial Arts Championship" in Hong Kong (April 8, 2007) culminating in the winning of three gold medals. Sifu Sam Libby currently teaches fighting applications class, private lessons, and treats clients at the Clifton NJ branch.
