What a day to be a K!!!!!

I never slip, I never fall, a lot of boys give me their number but I never call...

About Me

About me...What can I say about me?? What I could tell you about me now is something I couldn't have told you 4 yrs. ago. Or even 4 months ago for that matter. Life has blessed me with the gift of growth. And through that gift, I've been able to evolve in ways I never would have thought possible some time ago. It you truly want to know about me...just ask.

My Interests

Politics, Law, Music, playing the piano, public speaking, pageantry, singing, stepping, community service, soccer, eating, sleeping, and praising God.

I'd like to meet:

Prince, John Legend, Barak Obama, Anybody who has made a siginificant difference or is taking the stepping stones to make a signficant difference in the world.

Music:

Old School: Prince, Isley Brothers....just watch the time life soul ballads infomercial and you'll know everything I listen to.New School: Not too much, music that's new school is just sampling music that's old school these days. I see promise from Ne-yo and a couple of other ones that won't come to mind right now. Watch out for Teedra Moses, she's on Lil John's label, she has a lot of potential, Amerie, Alicia Keys, etc.Rap: Black Eye Peas (before they got commercialized), Common, Talib Kweli, Tribe Called Quest (still waiting on that reunion), I see promise from Lupe Fiasco (not too many brothers spit a rap about skateboarding and make it sound good), his song sounds like a classic in the making. Kanye (he needs to get off that sampling tip too), and anybody who's underground talking about something.Jazz: Roy Hargrove, Ken Ford, Sade, Boney James, anything with a good trumpet and piano in the background.Neo-Soul: Dwele (watch out for him, he's gonna be huge), Jill Scott, Raheem Devaughn (he's gonna be huge too, cop the love experience) Amel Larreiux, Floetry, anyone mellow.Did I leave any genre out? As you can see I'm very eclectic, so let's just say I'll listen to anything once!

Movies:

Purple Rain, Love Jones, Brown Sugar, Two Can Play That Game, Philadelphia, Trois (only one and two, three sucked), Saw I and II, Kill Bill I and II, Crash, and Any type of independent films from young, rising film makers. That's all I can think of for now.

Television:

Not a lot on television these days to watch. But when I do, I watch: Girlfriends, Yo mama, Wildin Out, Tiara Girls, Throwback shows like A different world, Living Single, New York Undercover, Soaps Operas, etc.

Books:

Anything by Eric Jerome Dickey, Zane, Margaret Hodges-Johnson, Chocolate Thoughts, The Isis Papers, Black Pearls: Daily Meditations and Affirmations, etc.

Heroes:

Jesus Christ, My mother who survived breast cancer twice, my father for surviving with her, my brother for being the best sibling in the universe, Ethel Hedgemen Lyle and the other trailblazers for starting the organization that has played a vital part in making me the woman I am today.
