DJ Phoney

Creative Workaholic - Between Marx and Marzipan

About Me

I`m a creative workaholic. Loving music since early childhood. Between 2001 and 2004 I did about 300 live DJ-sets. Right now I am producing (mainly Underground HipHop and rootsy Reggae). The label Phoney Tapes is run by my person (28 releases yet) and has mainly put out excellent DJ-mixes: www.phoneytapes.deI did write for and sometimes publish several magazines (New Direction, Rude & Red, MAGAZIN für Köln und den Rest der Welt).I`ve been running a punk-label (Red Flag) in the 90s, which for example put out the first three 7"-releases of german HC/Punk-"legend" Inner Conflict. Also for 6 years of my life I was member of the International Socialist Movement(close to the SWP) - I still see myself as a revolutionary marxist.I spend years to understand myself and my relationships and sometimes I think I really do grasp something...In the past I spend too much time (close to 10 years) in boring jobs, but this is no more...Visit www.myspace.com/djphoneysound to listen to some of my tracks.
