Accomplishments: At age 8, Jake auditioned and was chosen to be a member of the mixed band called BeachTown. When that band broke-up, he went on to be a member of a new group called 4-Euros, which sadly was also short lived. However, in 2003, Jake competed against hundreds of children in the Junior category of the Costa del Sol singing competition called “In Your Dreams†and took first prize, winning recording sessions at MMI, the studios he now works very closely with. Jake is a teenager now and is pursuing solo artist development. His achievements also include passing with distinction to Grade 3 Voice and passing with distinction in ABRSM Music Theory.
Media: Since 2005, Jake has been a guest presenter on the music radio show “Fame Games†that airs on Onda Cero International (OCI) FM 101.6 and 94.6. The radio show is also on the Internet and commands a strong web presence and can be heard at www.meermusic.com. You will also find Jake on www.myspace.com/jakewaby, www.broadjam.com/mmiartists and www.jakewaby.com. (Jake is also the webmaster for www.laurakrier.com.) He has been featured regularly in many publications throughout the Costa del Sol including Essential, Hi!, Kids on the Costa, The Sur in English, and the Web Express since 2003. He has also made guest appearances on Localia TV, Global FM and REM FM.
Projects: Has appeared in two music videos and one film. Has recorded 12 songs at the MMI Studios and hopes to release an album of these songs to raise money and awareness for Hemi-Help, an organization helping children who suffer from Cerebral Palsy like him.
Goals: To have a future career in music either as a performer or a producer; To help make the Fame Games radio show more popular - which is helping unsigned artists and bands find an audience; To faithfully donate to Hemi-Help, the society that has been helping him with his Cerebral Palsy and to be a role model to those who have been born with a handicap.
