7/31/2007....UPDATE
Wow did I enjoy my break or what??? This time away from home for some rejuvenation and relaxation definitely opened up my mind...I feel like a new person. like something during my week off kicked me in the head... you learn something new everyday, appreciate it and honor it. I enjoyed my sick ass time away from Cali... damm it's great to meet people thousands of miles away. So far my vacation has been WONDERFUL, and this is just the beginning!!!I arrive back home from Miami and mom surprises me with a "We're going to CABO, ST.LUCAS"... I was like, "wtf??? frealz?" Ahhhhhh!!! Life is great... More traveling, more sightseeing, more knowledge, & most of all more fun. There are so many beautiful places in this world that ya'll are yet to see... I want to see it ALL... You only live once, so make the best of it.
I flew out to Miami from LAX on Sat 7/21, arrived at Miami Int'l Airport at about 6:00am, which is quite early considering the Seaport doesn't start boarding till 11:00am. Anyhow, I took a shuttle to the Freedom of the Seas Seaport which took about 30 min... Homeboy taxi driver was a cool guy. He's from Panama and he told me all about the scene in Miami. Plenty of Haitian and Cuban immigrants in Miami for sure. It's fairly ghetto, not too safe, pretty high crime-rate, you definitely need to be protected when you go out (pun intended)... the streets aren't safe, plus, they are 1 in STDs/HIV in North America right now... Anyways, enough of that. This is not Statistics/Sociology class. So as my story continues, I arrive at the Seaport way too early so I just chilled & walked around the seaport. There wasn't really much too look at, boring as hell... Miami ain't that classy of a place... damm, I seriously though L.A. was ghetto... LOL...Anyways, I called my bro & I met up with him around 9... They weren't letting anyone board yet so we just chilled, got some breakfast, texted and myspaced our last minute messages/calls since we won't have phone access for the rest of the week... So we finally boarded the ship around 11:00am when we finally left AMERICAN SOIL...OK, the inner city of Miami was fairly ghetto but wow, as we were leaving Miami the outskirt is beautiful...Around the shores, The palm trees, the greenery, the beach, everything looked so beautiful, exotic, & tropical. A lot more hot & humid compared to California (of course duh, damm spoiled ass Californians, heh j/p). But, despite the weather, it was still such a beautiful place to visit.
The first day we set up the turntables in the middle of the Royal Promenade. It was definitely so much fun. That's where we had the introduction and played music for the Bingo context right in the center of Royal Promenade. (It's sort of like The City Walk of the Cruise, seriously it's literally like a mini 3rd street promenade inside the ship... It's so amazing) Ya'll definitely have to experience a CRUISE... at least once in your life... You will honestly appreciate everything about life and what the world has to offer. We're gonna check out Ochos Rios, Jamaica.... Labadee, Haiti, Grand Cayman in the Virgin Islands, last stop will be Cozumel, Mexico... This cruise is so amazing.. Not to mention, if you are gonna go on a cruise, make sure you take Royal Carribean International... I mean... think about it: I experienced the diamond, number 1, first-class Cruise Line in the world... Why go from a Porsche to a damm Pinto??? I guarantee it is worth it... Ya'll have to check it out. u gotta go with the Royal Carribean yo. for realz...So, the next day, our port of call was in LABADEE, a private island by Haiti that the Royal Carribean International owns... That island was probably the most alluring & loved the most... The weather was great, the wind was perfect, the water was so clean, and the whole atmosphere was just so placid and tranquil.. It's such an amazing place to see ya'll... There was even this crazy ass "zipline" contraption thingy that connected from this tall mountain all the way down to the bottom...sick ass little apparatus...too bad they were all sold out when we got there ;-( but overall, the island is SO FUCKIN ENTICING!!! I wish I got to spend more time on this extravagant Island, we were only limited like a half day per island, then we had to get back on the boat... ohh well, maybe next trip, & maybe soon? heh ;-P!! The native Haitians, the tribal, O.G. ones were really cool... They were singing songs, playing the drums, busting some tribal dances... it's sorta like breakdancing, gymnastics, acrobatics, circus-shit all combined... That definitely appealed to me... This crazy ass Haitian was literally jumping through a hoolahoop that was unerringly, i shit you not, at least 6 feet off the ground... This mofo hopped 6 feet through a hoop, somersaults, and lands on his feet... i was like WTF???? damm, i gotta get some B-boy/dancin tips from this homie... ya know?? heh lol..Day number 2 and I'm having a blast so far... Later on in the evening was the first night DJing at "The Crypt"- Royal Carribeans finest nightclub...I already met some great people... There's this New Zealand family, currently residing in Australia...They own like 3 subways out in Australia, rich, ballin-ass family, yet they are the kindest sweetest people on the face of this earth... I AM MOVING TO AUSTRALIA DAMMIT!!! LOL... like for realz, they are intellectual, they can actually hold a deep conversation, they are funny, entertaining, told me lots of stories of places they've been & they love to travel as well... I learned a lot from them... cool people... they seemed more like homies then like parents... I definitely related to them pretty well... Danielle's dad is so chill... he was buying me drinks all night and bumming me stogs... LOL, he was even tellin me a story of how he tried smuggling in bud in one of his cruises and almost got caught... cool guy... he'd make a good father-in-law ;-P... lol... so, we ended the music around 4am or so and just chilled a lil more w/ Danielle and the fam... I never actually chilled and got to know an Australian/New Zealand so I was definitely interested...so that night came to end with Danielle's parents being plastered, tired, and ready to crash out... heh, they can party like us young folks, but definitely can't hang like us.... so off the parents went back to the cabin, snoozed away. Danielle and I finally got some lone time, chilled on the upperdeck underneath the stars and listening to the undulating sound of waves rippling back and forth... It' so enchanting to watch the stars in a clear dark night in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean and hearing the waves... ahhhhhh so romantic...i miss all that... ;-( (sigh) anyways...we had a long day ahead of us. next stop JAMAICA MON!!! yeah mon!! right neeear the beeeeeach bboooooyy.... heh.....anways... so her and i off to her cabin and need I say more........................................................
....................................................next day..
Ahhhh, the next day... it's a bright and sunny morning, I wake up and VOILA we are now in Ochos Rios, JAMAICA, mon!!! Such a beautiful island, same weather, tropical, humid, hot, but still worth the sightsee... We peeped out the beach which is so clean and peaceful...I missed out on the Bob Marley tour, which I was really bummed about :-( But It was still a blass... I've learned about the Jamaicans and the history of the Rastafarians... I even got to SMOKE SOME GANJA with the Rasta heads!!! THAT WAS SO FUN!!! I'm just half-way in the cruise and I've had so much fun so far. There are a few ignorant people there as well though... but hey, aren't there a small percentage of IGNORANT people in every part of the worlds??? there's just a majority here in CALI. heh lol j/p.... anways...Like for realz, I was walking and some lady (of black heritage) straight said to me "Hey ChinaBoy!! Come here china boy!" I straight laughed my asss off... And they start laughing too thinkin I didn't understand them... Like i Had the security guard asking me "Do you speak any ENGLISH?"" like wtf??? are you serious???? Jamaica was cool minus the ignorance of people. But hey I can't let those few dumbasses in this world ruin my wonderful life... ya know what i mean?? So anyways, Jamaica day was over and my bro and I headed back to the boat... All of a sudden Mr. PowerTrip Jamaican Security guy decides to hassel my ass... I'm wearing this small shoulder bag ok, but check it, I had NOTHING on me, i smoked everything when i was on the island so i had absolutely nothing on me when boarding the ship... Anyways, this Security guy opens my bag and he sees a cigarette. The thing is, I hand-rolled my own cigarettes, ya know the natural no-additive type of tobacco, so it looks like a joint. not to mention it was half-smoked so it definitely looked like a roach... I wasn't worried one bit... I just smiled at the Officer and said "Look sir, I don't do that stuff. That's hand-rolled tobacco" So Mr. Dumbass felt so stupid. He opens up the cigarette thinkin he's gonna burn me and did absolutely nothing... wtf is he gonna do?? he felt so dumb after lookin at what it is... anyways, he let me in and I enjoyed the rest of my day... I seriously shouldve filed a complaint... I'm being harassed on my vacation... I'm hear to enjoy myself and live freely, not get hasseled by dumb security guards... It was funny because I had my bag of tobacco and my cigarette roller all in my bag...NOTHING ELSE...it felt so good demoting him like that...he was one of those that was talkin shit earlier too... heh, oh well....
Later on in the afternoon we met DJ Trippin from Miami, FL... cool ass homie... hella straight-edge though... I've never met a DJ who does not DRINK nor SMOKE... like wtf??? at the crew party, were free booze was being served and 99.9% of the people were drunk, he was at the other bar PAYING for fanta soda, coca-cola... LIKE WTF????? YOU ARE ON A FRIGGIN CRUISE!!!! CHILL!!! HAVE A DRINK, you don't have to even get drunk... dammm... but it's cool I understand. I'm sure there's a reason behind all that....anyways, later on at night, "The crypt" once again cracks and rocked by DJ Earwaxxx... this night was even crazier than before... more people were dancin and diggin the beats and it was hella more packed... This was the "red-head night" for me.... Let me explain: I was walkin back to my cabin to change my clothes as I see a couple arguing profusely outside the club...like crazy status fighting...it was funny to me cuz they from the south, and they were arguing both with this heavy hick accent... friggin hilarious... like a damm redneck couple fighting over crops in their ranch.... LOL... (j/p no offense country folks).... but anyways...she ditches her hubby and i see her chillen alone in the club... like HELLO??? wtf??? so she's all moody and pissed off, & i basically mentioned that saw them fighting.... well, this over-dramatic chick starts rambling about her damm life, how she wants to leave her husband, and how she's only in to him for the money, and how she just want custody of her kids and wants to stay the hell away from him... CRAZY ASS GIRL!!!i don't wanna hear this shit... i'm on vacation, YA KNOW trying to stay AWAY from drama???? & just be worry-free and relax for once in my life... but overall that, she's a chill person, she has a good-heart, she's respectful, not one of those stuckup bitches, and actually has meaningful comments and conversations... she was buying jim beams and red-headed sluts all night... damm, she's a cool ass chick. definitely knows how to party... well, I wasn't trying to steal her away from her husband honestly... but for real, she was bein very persistent and even more aggressive than me... damm i like that shit... are all women like that outside of cali?? heh j/p...but i mean for real. she's a responsible adult and she can make her own decisions...but the whole night she just kept rambling and explaining how she's ready to leave her hubby, how she hates him so much, and she's only in it cuz she's trying to get custody of her kids n shit... like, seriously though. don't tell me this shit... LOL..do i look like i care???.i just said: let's just chill, dance, have fun, whatever happens, happens.....................................................
............................................................
......................................*happened ;-P....well anyways, she was definitely outgoing, fun to be with, crazy-personality, not to mention also a dope ass dancer... she was amazing, talented, had moves other than shaking it back & forth, white girl with soul, that's sexy!!! ;-) i love her hip-hop choreography style too. PLUS, she was very generous, kind, & sweet as well, got me wasted & not just trying to take advantage of me... I mean she really was down to party and didn't mean putting the drinks on her husband's credit card LOL... literally ROFLMFAO.... anyhow... yes life is great....Wow, there really are CHILL ASS PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD... i am way to sheltered to my own little valley-life over here... gotta get the hell outta here soon...I've met so many different types of people, different cultures, lifestyles, and different genres of people from all over the world. Learning and observing other people's cultures is so amazing and I just realized for once in my life, it has definitely taught me how ARROGANT, SHALLOW and SUPERFICIAL california is (well, southern cali at least, lol)... It is so true... I honestly think I'm too sheltered to this so-cal lifestyle that it was definitely a big culture shock just arriving here at Miami.... "We" are definitely brainwashed by the whole media/hollywood scene... People there in the Atlantic are honestly so chill, open-minded, friendly, courteous, have values, very cultured, have pertinence, and people will actually come up to you and introduce themselves to you, and will actually be a friend... instead of like cali where everyone is all STUCK UP, superficial, fake friends, and got they heads up their asses, ya know? Next vacation trip is going to be EUROPE indefinitely. I especially love Euros.... I LOVE EUROS with a passion... english women especially...They are definitely the most sophisticated and can actually hold an INTELLECTUAL conversation...They are very elegant, classy, charming, smart, goal-oriented, family-oriented, raised with high morals/values, very modish and just dope ass people overall...and u gotta love the accent. like for realz, Imagine a beautiful bombshell blonde-haired, so-cal-lookin chick who is actually SMART, perplexing, not such a plain/simple chick, actually be intricative and artsy... use both left and right sides of the brains... creative and intellectual, with actual BRAINS. lol...and can actually connect with my on my level... Now that is HOT!!!YES, THEY DO EXIST (in the other side of the world that is) they are out there though... peace out CALI, as much as i love living here.... i'm gonna have to BOUNCE for a while..... i have an objective, a mission to accomplish... heh j/p....For real though. I'm gonna miss the ship, all the people I've met, the crew members, the staff, the guests, the food, the buffet, drinks, the activities, the cool ass kids we taught, they are so sweet, all the wonderful women I met... all the homies from all over the world, the entertainers and the performer... all ya'll are cool peoples... I've met so many different types of europeans/americanas/africanas/etc. here it's so great...Advice to my Fellow californians: take a trip across the globe... honestly, just spend a few weeks outside of the whole cali-lifestyle and believe me, you will notice something.... There is so much more the world has to offer... Life is short, APPRECIATE IT, LOVE IT. "Living in the past causes you to miss out on the present. Life is too short to let it pass you by."
11/20/06.. damm, been a hella while since i updated this...heh... i bet none of ya'll even care enough to read this till the end anyways. well, it may involve some of ya'll so... heh, anyways... just felt like i'd type a little somethin... my b-day just passed on the 14th... nice lil family celebration... nothin too crazy that day...for once, heh... but pam's b-day the following fri,... heh... i was definitely inebriated that night...so was the rest of the damm house... wow..we all had a blast... so we basically had the real celebration then...heh, good times ya'll...then, dave & buster's at the block was cool the next sat... i didn't get too wasted, but the bday boy sonny was PLASTERED as hell... heh... pics will be posted shortly... my weekend was great, met a lot of chill people... enjoyed myself... good times!! i just can't get my mind off this one person in particular... don't ya'll hate that shit?? like, she seriously is an extremely chill ass person, outgoing, so down, funny as hell, has the most amazing smile... like, dammmm... i dunno, she's just the one person who just stands out in my mind the most... it just sucks she happens to be "one of THOSE"!! ya know?? heh lol... nobody ever understands what i mean by that... it's my own lil inside joke to myself. LOL. does that make sense??anyways... before i get TOO personal... overall... life is great... i'm happy. school's almost done, getting my bus admin degree soon... the company i'm workin for is LOVING me... just got a mystery shopper award from our clients... got highest sales conversion for the month of october, and i am leading in the agent with HIGHEST SALES for this month... damm i'm loving my job, AND i'm great at it... not to mention, the $$$ involved.. lovin life baby... anyways... enough of this... ey, i party hard, just as much as i WORK hard... ya know?? see, my job is hella flexible... sometimes u can work up to a 60hr week if u wanted to. 12/hr a day... hella bank right there, talkin bout commission wise...sales are already gauranteed... so it's like, the longer u stay a day, the more guaranteed commission u will have...but damm, u get all drained out after 12 hours of sitting in front of a comp.. lol.. i've done it a few times..... it's not too bad... it just depends how much u wanna party for that week, heh... damm... i never have time for shit these days though... damm, i don't even have time for myself... 40-48hrs of work + 17units of school... i'm one of those... heh... but school will be done soon, and i will find some time to relax more... i know, ya'll think i party all the time judgin from my pics an all.. but f'real though, i'm a fulltime workaholic during the week.. heh... & when i do party, i make the best of it... anyways... enough of this... ya'll take it easy...
so...it's 8/28/06.. i just came back from a trip to the bay... wow ya'll! i LOVE NORCAL!!! hella different than the damm HOLLYWOOD/valley scene... I honestly think all of ya'll soCal heads ought to go up north... experience something NEW for once...
believe me ya'll, this damm valley/la scene is starting to get soo emblematic & superficial... (generally speaking, no offense ya'll) out here people are so inane, depthless, and judged with such SHALLOW criteria...it's SICKENING to the stomach...,i dunno if it's just here??? does anyone else notice that?? i dunno.. anyways.. so... i took a trip up north... NEW SCENARY!!.... haven't been up north in a few months, so we went & visited the homies... The soCal stereotype is so f*ckin true.... Just the first 2 days chillen in the bay I already noticed a BIG difference... ya'll valley heads can learn somethin.... maybe soon will finally pull that damm STICK outta ya ass..... -david jason perezGet Your Own! | View Slideshow
