If you think I'm crazy, then you're Goddamn right

About Me

Devil's advocate extraordinaire. I am passionate about many things in life, including (and especially) music, philosophy and life itself. I personally like getting to know people and there's nothing better than a good conversation.I entertain the thought of starting and/or running my own radio station, or just trying to attain a position of influence in the music industry, off and on. Music is my passion. The way the business works often makes me sick and I would like nothing more than to see something give.Other than that, I'm just trying to live my life to the fullest. Very cliche', I know, but true. I'm not one who lives on a schedule - get married by this age, buy a house by that age, have a child around this age, etc. I'm not entirely satisfied with who I am, but I wouldn't go back and change anything if I could.By: William Blake - my favorite piece of poetry

My Interests

I'm a pretty open minded person and I have a lot of different interests, including music, sports (especially baseball), philosophy, music, spirituality, art, music, humor, movies, games, music, culture, reading, writing (LOVE using my imagination and being creative), music, hanging with my friends, spending time with my family, exercise & fitness, music, city skylines at night or a starlit night sky far away from the city, sunrise, sunset, history, Asian landscapes architecture and culture, photography, music, travel, being positive, laughing at things that really shouldn't be funny and the list continues to grow. Oh, and did I mention music? Be warned: if you get me going on something like music or philosophy, getting me to shut up can be difficult.

I'd like to meet:

Those with an open mind. Those possessing a good sense of humor and imagination. Those with a profound love for music. Those who are simply cool, fun or interesting...and my dad. As far as famous people go, I'd have to say Bruce Lee, Bill Hicks, Samuel Langhorne Clemens (Mark Twain), and your mom. "Your mom"? Oh, that's real mature. What a jackass. Shut up and get over it.

Music:

I appreciate music to an extent which not many people do. Music is my passion - I listen to, have and enjoy it all. There's no other feeling in the world like hearing the perfect song at the perfect time. Music can make even the most miserable feelings feel good. And here's a list of just "a few" artists that I am fond of, starting with my all-time favorite band...Sister Machine Gun, Vallejo, Gomez, The Cult, Local H, The Refreshments, Knee Deep Shag, The Hunger, Jamiroquai, Earthsuit, 311, Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers, Audioslave,

DJ Quik, Styles of Beyond, Garbage, Billy Joel, Elton John, Garth Brooks (yeah, I said it), Matthew Sweet, Marvin Gaye, Prince, The Police, Damian Marley, Stephen Marley, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, The Offspring, Frost, Dr. Dre,Sevendust, Nonpoint, Spacehog, Puya (gotta love latin rock), Sting, Econoline Crush, Big & Rich, Cream, Four80East, Public Enemy, Boney James, Funktelligence, Michael Jackson, Kanye West, Atlanta Rhythm Section,Boyz II Men, Depeche Mode, Keiko Matsui, My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, Massivivid, Ginuwine, BT, Buckcherry, Roxette, The Prodigy, En Vogue, Stone Temple Pilots, Tony Toni Tone, Raphael Saadiq, Led Zeppelin, Creed, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, INXS, Michael Hutchence,Warren G, Nate Dogg, Sublime, Grits, George Michael, Burndown Allstars, Hall and Oates, The Eagles, Moloko, Outkast, The Doors, Madonna, Tears For Fears, Cee-lo Green, Craig David, Nikka Costa, TLC, Pulp, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Paul Oakenfold, Chicago (their older stuff), Supertramp, Acoustic Alchemy, New Order, Jon B,Jango, Decahedron, Frodus, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Division of Laura Lee, Otis Redding, Ambulance Ltd, Mute Math, Macrosick, The Beach Boys, Jill Scott, Technotronic, The Blue Hawaiians, Murder City Devils, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Shania Twain, Nine Inch Nails, Jimi Hendrix, Alice In Chains, KMFDM, The Bangles, Powerman 5000, Rappin' 4-Tay, Simple Minds, Burning Brides, Authority Zero, Spineshank,Anyhow, if you're a fan of industrial and electronic rock, here are some great sources...and...and

and...I have somewhere around 2,000 CD's, give or take a couple hundred, all store bought or given to me. Maybe it's because I'm a traditionalist, maybe I'm a bit slow when it comes to embracing change, and maybe I'm just uptight, but I just can not get into the whole IPod and music download thing. I don't want mp3's; I want CD's, records, tapes...whatever. I want the real thing. I like to have the whole package with the cool (or not so cool) cover art, the pretty pictures, the song lyrics, etc, and I prefer to be the one to remove the original plastic wrapping. Plus, I like to think that I'm supporting the artists whose work I appreciate by coughing up the money for the album rather than pirating or paying a dollar for one song on the internet. I'd feel guilty and dissatisfied otherwise. *steps down from soapbox*

Movies:

Big Trouble In Little China, The Crow, High Fidelity, Lost In Translation, Pump Up The Volume, Hackers, Thomas Crown Affair, Planes Trains and Automobiles, Captain Ron, Batman, Gone In 60 Seconds, James Bond, Fifth Element, anything Godzilla or giant monsters in general, The Big Hit, Interview With The Vampire, Bram Stoker's Dracula, Dracula 2000, American Werewolf In Paris (been on a vampire, werewolf and zombie movie binge as of late), Go, Medicine Man, What Dreams May Come, Princess Mononoke, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Mortal Kombat, True Lies, Aladdin, Revenge of the Nerds, Bloodsport, Lionheart, Lost Boys, Boondock Saints, The Princess Bride, Cruel Intentions, Big Shot's Funeral, Fight Club, Rush Hour, Operation Condor, Office Space, L.A. Confidential, Spirited Away, Indiana Jones, Who's Harry Crumb?, Adventures In Babysitting, Garden State, Spiderman, Jackie Chan in general, Major League, Bull Durham, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Calendar Girl.......

Television:

I don't watch much TV at all. But the shows I've watched on DVD or have enjoyed in the past: Firefly, Angel, Smallville, Darkwing Duck, Talespin, Ducktales (yes, I like my Disney), Rescue Rangers, Gargoyles, Dead Like Me, Lois & Clark: The Real Adventures of Superman, Knight Rider, A-Team (yep, I'm a child of the 80's).........

Books:

Robert Jordan's Wheel Of Time Series and Neil Gaiman has owned me in the couple years that have passed since I finally read Neverwhere. Other than that, I just tend to collect a bunch of books that mostly sit on a shelf and collect dust. I love reading, but it seems like there's never enough time. Yeah, I suck.

Heroes:

Of course my family and friends, who are like family to me, and then anyone, famous or not, who says or does something that enlightens me in some way.

Asian Dub Foundation

Last weekend, I blogged about the song, "AIM", by Tyga, which I had never heard before and was somehow intrigued by. I have since heard it a few more times and have grown to despise the song. The beat...

VMAs

I'm 31, so maybe I'm a little old for this, but I just watched the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards and I don't like how it went. Don't worry; I'm going to keep this short. Basically, maybe I'm just being ...

I just saw the video for Linkin Park's recent single, "Shadow of the Day" for the first time and I don't think it's a terrible song (though definitely FAR from their best), but everything about it and...
