About Me

lately all I've been doing is thinking about the future and where/what/who I want to be. I figure that a good start to getting wherever I want to go in life is to stop freaking out and enjoy the years when I'm youngest, healthiest, and have the most freedom (no kids or ball and chain yet!)What I know right now is that I love Chicago and I hope I end up here. I have wonderful friends. My favorite thing to do is go around in smaller neighborhoods and discover what the city is really about( for me, that doesn't involve the shopping on Michigan ave). It makes me happy when I get to talk to random people on the street and remember that we are all interconnected (even when the politics today are all about division and conflict). I get mad at things like sexist media being marketed towards the oppressed group (Cosmopolitan and Sex and the City are good examples). I want to surround myself with positive, loving people who are laid back and honest. Other than that, I love being outside during a good, warm rainstorm (unless I'm on my way somewhere and have to deal with being soggy for a long time), am hoping to survive the winter, and generally think argyle anything is too cute for my own good.A couple months ago my friend Erik gave us a prissy little pomeranian puppy whose name is Kip. I usually hate small dogs (and periodically make jokes about seeing how far I can dropkick them), but I've grown attached to him, if only because he's so quirky and I suspect a bit brain damaged.I guess another new thing is that I'm graduating from college this spring. It's exciting and scary and I'm still trying to decide which direction I'm going in-- back to things I've left behind or on to things I've yet to discover. With any luck, it'll be a little of both with a whole lot of love and laughter mixed in.
