DJ ROB KRUSH bought his first pair of Technics 1200's in 1989. That same day he purchased two 12" copies of the freestyle classic "Change on Me" by Cynthia and began his career as a DJ. Quickly he became skilled in the art of mixing Freestyle, House & Rap Music; and was known for being a premiere neighborhood DJ in Jackson Heights, Queens,New York. After 4 years of DJing private parties and local school dances, Rob Krush spun at his first nightclub, Papagalo's in Astoria , Queens . It was at this time he infused his love for New Wave/ 80's & WLIR music into his format. After visiting Aldo's nightclub in NJ with his well-known cousin ANDRE (currently program director for WLIR), Rob Krush decided to separate his formats and became more known for spinning New Wave, Industrial, and Eighties music. His first alternative music gig was in 1993 at the legendary Club Malibu in Lido Park,Long Island for the then well known 92.7WDRE/WLIR live broadcast of the Saturday Night Dance Party. (Best known for the film screening location of "Depeche Mode's 101" video). Later that year after Club Malibu closed its doors for good, he became the resident DJ at ~007~ at "Metro 700" a well known and long running Thursday night venue for alternative music. Rob Krush's career jumped off after this residency, as he was then invited in 1998 to become the resident DJ at LUXE (Levittown, NY), which was the home of the live broadcast of the "92.7 WLIR Saturday Night Dance Party" and played to a dance floor of 800 patrons on a weekly basis. Rob Krush is also best known for creating, hosting, and producing 92.7 WLIR's "CONTRAST RADIO" in 2001. Contrast Radio was a 2-hour live mixed radio show that helped put on the map a lot of today's best new and upcoming Synthpop/EBM/Industrial artists and DJ's. Today Rob Krush brings 18 years of experience to the scene and hosts one of Connecticut's few EBM/INDUSTRIAL/SYNTHPOP club nights (NECROPOLIS in Stamford , CT. ) on a bi-weekly basis Saturday nights.
