T Blaze

I am a child of God 1rst and foremost, a daughter of one of the greatest black women to walk this earth, I am a mother, an aunt, a friend, a singer/songwriter, a poet, an educator, a mentor, a community activist, and Cosmetologist, Therefore, I must make time to focus. I lend what talent and time I can to contributing something positive to life. I can't just sit around and be a part of the complaining crowd. I have two sons to raise and our youth needs us. And then there's love. Love does what it wants. When it does what it do finally, I will be ready. In the meantime, I am me. That means, open, free, straight forward, blunt and single. I say what's on my mind. Some people can't handle that side of me, that truth without some resentment. Some folks also say I should think about other people's feelings before I speak...I do. And I can totally handle the outcome of my actions. That brings me to the reasons I write. My life could be a page turning novel. Seriously. I've seen a great deal of joy and a ton of pain in my lifetime. It comes through in my music. FYI: I can't stand liars, haters, fakers, dilusionally self-righteous, hypocritical or patronizing people. I try to keep negativity to a minimum. If I don't like what you have to say, I'll at least consider it. Then, discuss it with my daddy. You know his name.!...the magnificent and the merciful king of kings and the conquering lion of Judah. I write about being happy in love alot even when I'm not. What drives me; my spirit...is the energy of true musicians, artists and poets. The arts are an amazing thing. Keeps me grounded. I've been to so many churches that religion is unimportant to me. Feeding my spirit though, is a must. I'm a very spiritual being. My family is catholic, muslim, prodestent and baptist. I used to sing in my jr high, high school and church choirs. I've been singing since I was 3yrs old and writing sine I was 13yrs old. . I've been told that I sound like Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, and Phyllis Hyman. My daddy said Phyllis Hyman. That is by far the biggest compliment I've ever received and the one that means the most to me. I feel like she was and still is one of the greatest icons of our time. Check me out right here.
