About Me

Myspace Layouts - Myspace Editor - Image Hosting

My Interests

reading, writing, dancing, squishing the mosquito of fascism.

I'd like to meet:

grammarians, graffiti taggers, diary keepers, harmonica players, deliberate hobos, poetic pencil pushers, knitters and stitchers, zinesters, bongo beaters, open-source coders, history probers, elegant equation-solvers, bridge-builders (literally and figuratively). Folks obsessed with their art, where art is defined by the creation of their life's work.

Music:

Bands I'm simply wild about: Tegan and Sarah, the Sounds, Django Reinhardt, Lou Reed, I Am the World Trade Center, Pain, Modest Mouse, Beirut, the Headlights.Absolute faves: Kings of Convenience, Clockwork Army, Bowie, Ani, Beatles, the Long Blondes, Blondie, Jett (Joan), and Nina Simone, Django, Dandy Warhols, Of Montreal, Most of all: Le Tigre, the Postal Service and the Clash.

Movies:

The Princess Bride, the Color Purple, Better Off Dead, Say Anything, Heathers, Amelie, When Harry Met Sally, Bowling for Columbine.

Television:

Studio Sixty On the Sunset Strip is the best show you aren't watching. The new Dr. Who amuses me. The Simpsons is the greatest show ever. South Park is brilliant when it is not retarted. And I might be willing to have Jon Stewart's baby.

Books:

Catch-22, Hitchhiker's Guide (series), Fast Food Nation, Mad Cowboy, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, A People's History of the United States, Song of Solomon. Absolutely anything by: Kurt Vonnegutt, Armistead Maupin, Rowling, Sharon Olds, Michelle Tea, David Leavitt, Herman Hesse, Jorge Luis Borges, Alix Olsen, Jhonen Vasquez.

Heroes:

Alix Olsen, Emma Goldman, John Stewart, Howard Zinn, Noam Chompsky, Thoreau, Mother Jones, Ani Difranco, Derrick Jensen
