The Des Moines Buccaneers are a Tier 1 junior ice hockey team playing in the West Division of the United States Hockey League (USHL).
For twenty-six years, the Buccaneers have been Des Moines hockey team and have provided high-quality entertainment for the more than one million fans that have watched the team play at 95 KGGO Arena, previously Buccaneer Arena, but always the Madhouse on Hickman as the loyal supporters often call it. The Buccaneers are coached by Head Coach and General Manager Regg Simon and assistant coach Brad Frattaroli.
The Buccaneers - the USHLs all-time wins leader, boast an unmatched record of success in the league, having made playoff appearances in eighteen consecutive seasons, winning ten championships, helping an average of ten players per season earn NCAA Division I scholarships, and watching its alumni get drafted by the NHL each of the last ten years.
