About Me

Hey Now! Thank you for stopping by!
A music junkie since early childhood by night, and a computer geek by day, I live life to the fullest. Growing up, I learned you do not get anywhere in life without taking chances; and that is generally how I wound up in Colorado.
Most of my family is still in upstate New York, but growing frustrated by the small markets of Rochester and nearby Buffalo, I moved to New England in 1995, specifically around the Boston area. New England treated me very well for eight years, as I have numerous close friends with whom I stay in touch.
However, one of those doors in life opened up where after remotely supporting an office for Philips in Longmont and after a few weeks'worth of business trips, I relocated to Colorado in May 2003; spending my first two years in Longmont before moving a dozen miles southwest to beautiful Boulder.
My latest project is learning banjo, which I started in April 2005. After spending my first 1.5 years studying under Robby Loeb, I am now studying under Jayme Stone. I participate in weekly bluegrass picks at Oskar Blues (Lyons), Southern Sun (Boulder), Border's (Boulder) and the Pioneer Inn (Nederland).
In my 20s and 30s, I spent most of those years following the Grateful Dead, Jerry Garcia, Bob Dylan, Phish and many artists in many genres.
Three sets of words I live by:
"All good things in all good time" - Robert Hunter & Jerry Garcia
"And in the end, the love you take, is equal to the love you make" - John Lennon & Paul McCartney
"Strike another match, go start anew." - Bob Dylan
See you at Telluride, Rockygrass, Grand Targhee and the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival this Summer!

My Interests

Live music, camping, computers, road trips, hot springs, festivals (Telluride, Rockygrass, RM Folks Fest) and bluegrass picks.

I'd like to meet:

Bob Dylan, Garry Trudeau, Robert Hunter, Phil Lesh, Bob Weir, Burton Cummings, Randy Bachman, Pete Townshend, Tim Russert, John Prine, Gillian Welch, Cindy Sheehan, Bruce Cockburn, Nancy Pelosi

Music:

FAR too many to mention them all. Start with good old Grateful Dead, Jerry Garcia, Bob Dylan, Beatles, Neil Young, David Crosby, CSNY/CSN, Bill Monroe, The Guess Who (the first band I ever got into...and opened the door to music for me!), Phil Lesh & Friends, Bob Weir, Allman Brothers Band, The Who, Pete Townshend, The Byrds, Roger McGuinn, Gillian Welch, Alison Krauss, Emmylou Harris, John Prine, Lucinda Williams, Hot Tuna, Peter Rowan, David Grisman, Bela Fleck, Jerry Douglas (the other Jerry!), Los Lobos, Sam Bush, Yonder Mountain String Band, Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Burning Spear, Del McCoury Band, Joe Walsh, Bruce Cockburn, Richard Thompson, David Bromberg, Hot Rize, Tim O'Brien, Darrell Scott, Pat Metheny, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Gram Parsons, Jim Lauderdale, Uncle Earl, Shawn Camp, Yes, Jaco Pastorius, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Jimi Hendrix, John Lee Hooker, Booker T & The MG's, BB King, Frank Zappa, Eric Clapton (pre-1978), Santana, Pink Floyd, Max Creek, Merl Saunders and a HUGE .etc! In a nutshell, the only genres I do not enjoy are rap and hip-hop.

Movies:

I'm not a movie-goer. Otherwise...The Godfather, Caddyshack, Stripes, The Deer Hunter and...The Wizard Of Oz!

Television:

South Park, old Simpsons, Daily Show, Colbert Report, any NFL game, college basketball, some baseball, news and...The Twilight Zone! Otherwise, since moving to Colorado, I've watched much less TV in the past year.

Books:

Currently reading: "The Beatles Anthology" - The Beatles (I'll probably never finish this, the book is so enormous!) "Bill Graham: My Life Inside And Out" - Bill Graham and Robert Greenfield

Heroes:

Mom and Dad, Bob Dylan, Jerry Garcia, Bill Monroe, Earl Campbell (my sports hero growing up)
