In their 5th year of existence ZERO MENTALITY manages once again to bewitch the underground music scene with their bohemian interpretation of Hardcore, Rock, Punk and Metal. On their latest effort »virtues and vices«, a split mcd with ruhrpotts great rockhouse THE HEARTBREAK MOTEL, ZM offers their most sophisticated material so far. In February 2008 two grooving songs were recorded at Smart n Hard Productions in Aarhus, Denmark with highly esteemed producer Jacob Bredahl. At the same time the band shot a music video with Director Alex Kraudelt that does not only amaze devoted ZM diehards but documents the evolution from an insiders tip to one of the most rocking bands around. The history of ZERO MENTALITY now expands to five records (a demo, which also got reprinted on vinyl, the 2005 »In Fear of Forever«, a split 7inch with Belgiums finest THE SETUP entitled »soul and death«, the second Album »invite your soul« from 2007 and their current output »virtues and vices« ) and a lot of live shows. Since their foundation in the end of 2002, the band toured all over Europe. 2005 a tour was shared with friends in Born From Pain, and with two headlining trips to promote »invite your soul« in 2007 they continued to spread the name ZERO MENTALITY. They recently played some festivals with major acts like SLAYER, MACHINEHEAD, CANNIBAL CORPSE, KORN, etc and before they already shared stages with Bands like Agnostic Front, Caliban, Converge, Hatebreed, Hatesphere, Heaven Shall Burn, Madball, Maroon, Napalm Death, Sick Of It All, Terror… just to name a few.
Coming from a deeply routed Hardcore background, ZERO MENTALITY is a band that manages to live up to their existing influences of Metal, Rock, Punk and furthermore. They create a boundless mixture that is true to an individual style rather than being a lump of things. ZERO MENTALITY’s sound is familiar to those who like Metal riffs, rockin’ song-structures, nihilistic vocal approaches as well as heartfelt voices. But as this is no limit to the whole package, one should be ready to include everything into expectation. Gaining respect from people with different kinds of musical taste and coming from various spectrums of the underground music scene, the band got rave reviews for records and live-shows in "Legacy", "Aardshock", "Metal Hammer", "Rock Hard", as well as countless print- and web-zines
