About Me

Lots and lots. And some more. I have a collection of hats that rarely get an outing, except from the occasional one at myspace - myspace is hatspace for me really...that's all. I like the sea, rowing boats, ocean (not freshwater) fishing and sailors' tattoos, with a special penchant for the anchor motif. I'm thinking of getting one on my upper arm. I'll have to think about the rest. Here goes, for now: Although originally born in Stavanger, Norway, Birgitta moved to Leeds close to ten years ago because of an intense connection with musician Petter Fadnes (feel the blame!) but also because she'd found her muse in British Cultural Studies. Years later and she's really just finished studying (still not finished with Petter), having submitted her 375 page PhD thesis Spectacular Breasts in January 2006. You can all now pay due respect to the power of her brain by always addressing her as Dr. as she has successfully entered the higher realm of elitist bastards with PhDs who obsess unnecessarily with their titles. Hence the breasts. Hope no one's offended, or I will be.

Love infinites me

I cannot live with a single body cut off from the rest. I want ways of holding on to what surpasses me, of adding to myself a mother or other. (I know at least two for holding my hand and chasing away...

Fumes

Spent a couple of hours yesterday painting the door between the staircase and living room. I used an undercoat, which is a matt, thick primer paint. It smells rather nasty, polluting the air in the en...

The only good thing about GI Jane

OK, so here's my confession: I have a special relationship to Ridley Scott's Cinematic Masterpiece of all times, G.I. Jane (1997). I've watched it many times. I wrote an essay about it during my...

Yes, you read it first here: sex does indeed still sell! I can now confirm that my blog here had eight hits in one day and this is record-breaking by all standards. Bet you were disappointed though!...

ANIMAL PSYCHOLOGY

Why sex sells

Oh, just checking! Whether sex sells that is... I'm sort of blog-blocked at the moment, so must try to find something to write about that actually gets me writing and people reading. And Liza-the-ca...
