DEADBIRD

This is the end of existence...

About Me

In a rundown shack in Arkansas, two brothers began writing songs that shared the same aesthetic as the building that held them; depressing and sagging with the weight of existence. Alan came along and helped them write 'The Head and the Heart' which the band recorded the following winter. They continued on without a bass player until Todd came along. The four of them forged ahead, playing any show they could get to. 'The Head and the Heart' was self released at first, until Codebreaker, an upstart label from the UK, remastered and reissued the disc, with liscensing through Earache in the US. The band toured the US for the release several times, with an appearance at the Emissions From the Monolith Festival in 2005. During the course of the last year, Deadbird has seen two lineup changes. Alan left to be with his family, and Todd left to focus on his own band, Dirtmother. Jay and Stroker have joined, and together with Chuck and Phillip, 'Twilight Ritual' was recorded. It is a testament of faith in addiction. The record is filled with self-loathing and hatred for humanity. It is an honest rock record that reviles itself in doubt and conviction. This band is self-destruction at its finest.
