About Me

I am currently a recording engineer and audio instructor by trade. I have also been known to play guitar in rock bands. I started playing during the '80's doing the big hair metal thing (yes, I admit it, I have worn spandex on stage).

Music:

Classic Rock, Hard Rock/Heavy Metal (from it's inception back in the early '70's to the present, all though I'm not a big fan of the '90's Grunge era), some forms of jazz, traditional Celtic as well as Celtic influenced Bluegrass, Classical

Movies:

Action Films, Comedies, Films with historical signifigance. Also films based on the works of whom I consider the "universe creators" (ie: Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings", Lewis' "Chronicles of Narnia", Rowling's "Harry Potter", Lucas' "Star Wars", Roddenberry's "Star Trek". Musical History/Documentary type films, both fictional and nonfictional (ie: "The Song Remains the Same", "Standing in the Shadows of Motown", "Still Crazy").

Television:

I enjoy the "educational" channels such as History, Discovery and National Geographic Channels. Pretty much anything that can stimulate my mind.My father was a huge fan of the "Andy Griffith Show" as I was growing up and as such, I also became a fan, particularly seasons 1-5. I realize it's somewhat antiquated by today's standards, but I still think both the writing and acting were brilliant. I'm not a big fan of the mindless fluff popular today.

Books:

I enjoy works from the following authors:Steven King (particularly his earlier works), Isaac Asimov, Jules Vernes, H.G. Wells, Aldous Huxley. As well as the "universe creators":J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, J.K. Rowling.I also enjoy nonfiction on the following subjects:History, Philosophy, Various Religions. I also subscribe to National Geographic
