Like many great things the Freebooters started with a drunken conversation in a bar.The band has been going since early 2005 and is a 5 piece DIY StreetPunk band with a bit of bite and have been equally at home when playing with Hardcore punk bands like the Restarts and Fleas and Lice as with other Street punk bands such as Runnin Riot, The Oppressed or The Stagebottles.
Our music is lively and catchy and drunks seem to like us at the end of the night!We have played many gigs in Southern and Northern Ireland, England, Scotland,Holland, Belgium and Germany.Our drummer Crispo has played in about a thousand Irish punk bands including Brawl, The Dagda, Bleeding Rectum etc, Mickey and Fiona were in The Poke, Thomas sang in Nappyrash and Conor is in his first band.We play because we enjoy it, we don’t want or expect to make it famous or any such rubbish, we want to have fun, not rip people off and keep fascists, businessmen and other scumbags away from our punk culture and society in general.We also like drinking, falafel and football though you probably guessed that.We will be playing some gigs in Ireland and Hungary this summer, and will then be recording our first CD for a Polish label.We are friendly people who like nothing better than staying up late, drinking and talking shit so come and say hello if our paths cross!
