In a country where female idols consist the core of mainstream show
business, it could easily be imagined how this four piece/duo-female-vocal
band came to recieve great attention after their first album release, one
gleam after the shadow, in July, 2006. But what is it, among countless indie
bands that feature female vocalists, that makes texas pandaa so unique? Is
it the fact that they have two cute girls singing lingering tunes in
mesmerising harmony? Or is it the haunting lyrics that evokes nightmares of
the past? The heart-shredding roar of the shoegazer guitars? The monotone
but crisp groove of the drums? All is true, but for most listners, it might
be the true evilness that radiates wickedly underneath the feminine grace of
texas pandaa's songs that is so compulsive to us all.
