About Me

I am your average tattooed late 20s slave in the corporate Information Technology world just trying to find the path of working to live. Music is my saving grace. I am a musician. I play saxophone, bass guitar, keyboards, and anything else you want to put in front of me. I am a serious thinker and spend numerous minutes and hours pondering all sorts of things. Essentially, I am just trying to figure out the precise place for me in this world, be it here or there. I hope to one day to resume a rigorous travel schedule and experience the extensive array of cultures that the world has to offer. It is my past experience I am most content when exploring the world. If you want to know anything else, there is a message button to your left. Use it. I do not bite, unless you ask me to.

My Interests

music, photography, computers, movies, musicians, saxophone, bass, keyboards, cameras, web technology, electronics, travel, video games, networking, web design, japanese culture, soccer, tattoos, piercings, kung fu, jujitsu, machines, European History, WWII, random drives with no destination, museums, and art.

I'd like to meet:

People from all over the world. I hope to make friends in as many countries as I can as I plan to travel as much as possible and would like to have friends to visit along the way.

His holiness the Dalai Lama, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Nikola Tesla, Beethoven, Hiroshige, and Capt. Richard Winters of Easy Company 506 PIR WWII.

Music:

Radiohead, Slowdive, John Coltrane, My Bloody Valentine, Miles Davis, Ride, Chapterhouse, Cocteau Twins, Explosions in the Sky, Halou, Kinski, Violet Indiana, The Cure, Lush, Sigur Ros, M83, Nine Inch Nails, The FLIR, Beethoven, Bach, Shostakovich, Joy Division, New Order, Gang of Four, The Autumns, Aarktica, The Verve, Cranes, Depeche Mode, Catherine Wheel, Brothomstates, Ulrich Schnauss, Doves, Genesis, Death From Above 1979, Yes, Rush, The Bravery, Blur, Suede, Pulp, Shellac, Massive Attack, Jesus and Mary Chain, Kevin Shields, Lift To Experience, The Descendents, Dead Kennedys, Mission Of Burma, Minutemen, Mike Watt, The Adolescents, The Sex Pistols, Subhumans, The Misfits, Sun Kil Moon, Auburn Lull, Killing Joke, Longwave, Drive Like Jehu, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Smiths, The Mars Volta, Bola, 808 State, Q And Not U, Bowery Electric, Labradford, The Beatles, The Who, U2, Sunny Day Real Estate, The Rapture, Blood Has Been Shed, Radio 4, Orbital, Rialto, Trespassers William, The Stone Roses, Psychedelic Furs, Trash Can Sinatras, Windy and Carl, The Jam, Recoil, Zoviet France, Tears For Fears, Kaiser Chiefs, and thousands of others.

When I do have the time and/or opportunity, either the History Channel, Discovery Channel, or Soccer games. I have recently been hooked on No Reservations as Anthony Bourdain presents the world in a demeanor that I can really understand. Other than that I hardly watch TV.

Books:

James Joyce, Edgar Allan Poe, Arthur Rimbaud, Charles Baudelaire, Sun Tzu

Heroes:

John Coltrane - He exalted music to a whole new dimension. There will never be another.
Dennis Hagewood (my father) - A shining example of what the perfect father should be. He has made it possible for me to be here today with his sometimes unwanted yet correct lectures, love, providing for, and nurturing of my family.
Alvin Mower (my grandfather) - Simply stated, a pure genius with barely a high school education on paper. No one I have ever come across knows more or can do the things that he can do. I think he is a human computer. It is safe to say that he knows something about everything in this world. I will even forgive him for his love of Rush Limbaugh. ;)
The Dalai Lama: "One of the characteristics of karmic theory is that there is a definite, commensurate relationship between cause and effect. There is no way that negative actions or unwholesome deeds can result in joy and happiness. Joy and happiness, by definition, are the results or fruits of wholesome actions. So from that point of view, it is possible for us to admire not so much the immediate action, but the real causes of joy."
