Shttp://www.cga.ct.gov/asp/cgabillstatus/cgabillstatus .asp?selBillType=Bill&bill_num=HB05273 the Police Officer Standards and Training Council have until January 1, 2008 to develope and implement a policy concerning the acceptance of missing person reports by law enforcement agencies in the state and such agencies response thereto. What this means is law enforcement has a chance to come up with a policy that will make our communities a safer place to live. We live in a technological age where the PROPER TRAINING in the collection of DNA and PROPERLY put into the national Database is not asking to much. Evaluating all reports of missing and carrying out the procedures within the guidelines, following proper protecol. This will help find a person or possibly eliminate the everyday heartbreak of not knowing like our family has for the past three years. Although this is part of a model legislation which our country is starting to implement state by state. We need to do even more, this needs to be a Federal issue where all states are on on the same system, one procedure across the board, to properly get the results everyone strives and depends on. We know there are some wonderful dedicated police officers in our state and I know if a loved one of theirs went missing they would be the first to want this policy in place. This is a giant step forward, a SPECIAL THANK YOU to REPRESENTATIVE VICKIE NARDELLO for sticking with me and helping every step of the way ( although we still may have some work in front of us after January 1, 2008) also a thank you to the co-sponsors of the bill, REPRESENTATIVES, Dargan, Lawlor, Noujaim, Adinolfi, Sayers,McCluskey, Gentile, Zalaski, Orange, D'Amelio, Mikutel, Mioli, Lewis, Berger, Leone, Candelora, Frey,and Scribner also SENATORS Gugilielmo and Kissel. A thank you to all the House of Representatives 148-0 vote and thank you to the Senate for 36-0 vote.A special thank you family, friends, law enforcement, and our CT. Chief State Medical examiner Wayne Carver for coming and help testify. John Murray for continually covering our story and Marilyn Moss for coverage during the process the bill moved through legislation. Finally thank you GOVERNOR RELL for signing the bill into law but it means nothing yet. WE NEED SIGNATURES AND VOICES. God is with us every step of the way, with HIM all things are possible. It is getting close to our prayers being answered to bring Billy home, justice WILL be done. Giving up is not an option our FAITH is STRONG. WE LOVE AND MISS YOU BILLY!
