What's up everybody!!!! The Houston Jam Session (GHMBC) has been going on for atleast 2 years. We've been getting together monthly to jam, share, pray, discuss, eat, fellowship, play ball and just have a GOOD TIME!!! Generally we meet on the last Monday of the month from 10pm - 2am at Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church (3015 North MacGregor Way - Houston, Texas 77004).......... These sessions were birthed because of a desire that Pastor DZ Cofield and I have to help empower and provide support for the music community here in Houston and eventually globally......Of course this is a great time for fellowship....Many folks don't see each other until the sessions......lol......As a part of the musical exchange that occurs during the "Jam Time" musicians get a chance to grow and develop ideas and concepts.... In addition to the instrumental music - there is a vocal arm to the session. Vocalists generally meet in another room with a full band - and exchange ideas, concepts, technique.......they write, arrange and come up with some HOT stuff!!!.......If that's not enough - there is the gaming portion........We open the full gym......and cats play basketball for hours......This has proven to be a popular component!!! ALL IN ALL - we are here to bless each other, appreciate/celebrate the gifts that God has given each of us and continue to grow/evolve musically, personally and spiritually........ALL MUSICIANS/SINGERS/Etc.... are welcome to join us... We've got a mailing list.... Many people have gotten jobs and gigs because of the email correspondence or networking from this group.....
