Just because I'm a nurse, doesn't mean I have patience.

About Me

I'm a lover of God. I'm an ICU nurse. I'm the proudest aunt ever and it breaks my heart that everybody in the free world gets to see Adam more than me. I have two cats. I'm independant to a fault. I like to at least try to be crafty, even if my projects look a lot better in my head than they do when they're completed. I like music of all kinds and especially love to dance. I love when CDs have the lyrics printed in the jacket. I am such a lister. I keep chapstick everywhere. I don't understand people who are attached to their cellphones or laptops. I want to go to all 50 states by the time I'm 50. I like to read. I am attempting to become a runner and am so proud that I completed the Triple Crown of Running! I have recently realized how large my ass is. Pink is my signature color. There are a lot of things I am that I wish I weren't; there are things I'm not that I strive to be, but in the end, I am who I am. Take it or leave it.

My Interests

Typical things for a typical girl. I like music, books, TV, movies (though I haven't seen a lot of them), popcorn, cookie dough, cats, Coca-Cola, laughing, running/other exercises, crafty things like cross stitch, knitting, now crocheting, hanging out with friends over a beer. Aud and I just started doing the World Beer Tour at Old Chicago and it is the coolest! (FYI: there is a beer named "Big Butt". And it's good.) Love relaxing on the couch. I work hard so I have to relax hard. Am going to do some work on the house this summer. If you're handy, let me know!

I'd like to meet:

Me in two years. I am interested to see how I turn out and where I end up. I would also love to meet Conan O'Brien, Ellen Degeneres, Matthew McConaughey, Justin Timberlake, Danny Masterson, Andy Roddick, Michael Jordan. And if the man of my dreams really does exist, I'd kinda like to meet him, too. This layout was handmade with love by the folks at My space or yours? Go get one!

Music:

You'd find all kinds of things if you looked at my iPod. I have Kenny Chesney to Disturbed. 50 Cent to Britney Spears (God bless her crazy heart). Johnny Cash to Queen. Little Big Town to Buckcherry. Ludacris to Elton John. Beatles to Destiny's Child. I am not a music snob and people that are really bug me.

Movies:

I judge my favorite movies by those that I can watch over and over and over again, and there are many of them. Many! Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Blazing Saddles, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Young Frankenstein, Tommy Boy, Billy Madison, Ten Things I Hate About You, Never Been Kissed, The American President, The Little Mermaid, Monster's Inc., Beauty and the Beast, all the Shrek movies, the Simpson's Movie.

Television:

The Simpsons, Friends, Scrubs, Grey's Anatomy, ER, House Hunters, Great Hotels, Passport to Europe, World's Strongest Man competitions, Design on a Dime, Dirty Jobs, Modern Marvels, SNL, American Gladiators, Dancing With The Stars, Mega Movers, Notes From the Underbelly, Miss Guided, Late Night with Conan O'Brien and Ellen. I always love the reruns of the wholesome shows I watched growing up. Even with all these shows listed there are some days I designate as "No TV Days". My life doesn't revolve around the boob tube.

Books:

I like Nicholas Sparks books, and those fun, quick feel good reads. I was just introduced to Jodi Picoult and she's AWESOME. I was in a book club for about 2 seconds, but it disbanded I guess. I am going to make reading a priority and find more time to do it.

Heroes:

Military (past, present and future) and the people that miss them when they're gone but keep on keeping on. People who survive broken hearts and somehow manage to wake up happy one day.

My Blog

Nothing that amounts to a whole lot

1.  I went to Memphis over the weekend.  I had a good time, but as with most vacations I was ready to come back home.  The last day or two I really missed my cats.  I spent a lot o...

Rodes 10K

This is about a week late, but I thought I’d blog on the 10K I ran last Saturday.  That’s 6.2 miles in American terms.  The race started at 8:30 and I wanted to get up at 7 to w...

More Randoms

After discussing with a doc at work how everybody has some OCD qualities and quirks, I began to wonder what are yours?  Some of mine are... 1.  I have to use all the ink out of one pen befor...

Snow

I do love the snow.  I know that some of you are bummed because it's snowing and it's March and you'd rather have warm weather.  Me, I'd love the snow even in July.  ...

The first crown

Today was the Anthem 5K, the first leg in the Triple Crown of Running. (Everything in Louisville has to either involve the derby or the fleur de lis). It was quite an event. I...

Randomness

1.  If I never hear the term "baby bump" again it will be too soon.  Ugh. 2.  Two year olds are not fun to sleep with, but they give the BEST hugs. 3.  When bad things happen to a ...

Snowman Shuffle

So yesterday was the second leg of the Polar Bear Grand Prix, the series of races I'm doing this winter.  It was much better weather than the last race; sure it was kinda cold, but at least there...

Reindeer Romp

I did the Reindeer Romp today.  Contrary to what the title suggests, I did not have marital relations with a reindeer.  It was a 4K race, and the first of three races in the Polar Bear Grand...

Clothing

Every few months I go through the closet and get rid of things.  If I can't remember the last time I wore it and if it doesn't fit just right out it goes.  I try on shoes to see how they loo...

Status

So Heat,  I thought you were kinda crazy whenever you said you couldn't change it, but I understand now.  I can't bring myself to change it either.
