About Me

Things that don't matter in the grand scheme of things:
1. I have a bachelor's degree from Boston University.
2. I work as a BOM analyst for Analog Devices Inc.
3. I have hundreds of friends according to myspace and thefacebook.
4. I can't chose one favorite color; because I like to blend them all together- rainbow are cool.
5. I am straight, though I don't introduce myself by saying "Hi, I'm Melissa. I'm straight."
Things that matter to MY grand scheme:
1. Despite the fact that I'm terrible and keeping in touch; my friends and family are the most important thing to me.
2. I can't stand being caged in; living in one place for an extended period; my life's goal is to visit as many different countries as possible.
3. I am going to help save the world, one shark at time after getting into graduate school for Marine Science.
4. I want to do something big, that will affect as many people as possible in a positive way; I might need help figuring out what that might be..
5. A job is not your life; it is what pays for life (that's from a movie, but it's a damn good quote).
6. Companionship is important to me; holding onto 1 good friend is more important to me than popularity. On that note, life is good, I've got great friends and an amazing boyfriend.
Ideals are like stars; you will not succeed in touching them with your hands, but like the seafaring man on the desert of waters, you choose them as your guides, and following them, you reach your destiny-Carl Schurz
For me, the ideal life is one in which I break free of the United States and go travel the world again. I'd like to end up back in New Zealand, but first, I need to travel through Europe, Asia and South America.
Life is about the journey, not the destination.
A mathematician is a blind man in a dark room looking for a black cat which isn't there.- Charles Darwin
I live for adventure. I like to be below the surface of the water and above the limits of land. I've been scuba diving in New Zealand, Australia and St. John (USVI, skydiving and bungee jumping in NZ. I love to keep active and hate the winter weather, which prevents most of us from going outside. Although I learned to ski this winter, skiing is an expensive timely sport. I'd rather be swimming, playing soccer, basketball, softball, volleyball, or even football. Rollerblading is fun too, when someone is there who can help me stop (before entering traffic).
