Gogalog was started as a therapy session for Luu Surfer and Dick Cheese. With Luu on instruments and vox and Dick behind the board, the first few tracks were laid down. Luu decided that Dick's guitar talents were wasted and brought him out front for Alien and the remainder of the sessions.All songs were recorded over the course of several Saturdays during the summer. Each Saturday was one song, with Luu driving up to Big Big Records' studio in Ventura. The day would typically start with breakfast at The Busy Bee, and then off for some drums and bass. Guitars, and keys would be layered, and vocals added. Sometimes the previous week's song would be tweaked with added guitars and vocals.All songs were written by Luu with the exception of Alien, written by Luu and Dick. Hugh and M.Wendall would occassionally stay at the studio, and when they would their contributions were always welcome.Aliens on the Bridge is an obvious reference to two of the songs on the CD, and also a nod to Star Trek. Shakespeare Bridge is in Los Feliz, and was a good place to walk to.Gogalog hopes you like our songs and if you do, spread the word!
