About Me

... !!!!!!!!!!!I'M GETTING KINDA TIRED OF MY PROFILE PAGE, SO BARE WITH ME AS I TRY TO TRANSFORM IT!!!!! ...I'm over 200 pounds of Coal Mining Fool!! I Love street rods, bikes and twistin wrenches!!...And not necessarily in that order. Hunting and fishing are passions of mine, so I hope you like the outdoors. I own seven older cars and trucks and one bike that I work on and fix up, so I am busy all the time with that. Some vhicles in the stable that are worthy of note: 1972 Ford 1 ton crew cab. 390cid 4bbl C6 factory A/C. rare 1980 pontiac Grand Am (only 1670 made that year) with factory sunroof. HO301 factory 4bbl. 1946 Mercury 2dr that I am street rodding. 1947 Willys jeep that is patiently waiting for me to get to. My son also has a 1980 Ford Mustang 302 Fastback that he wants me to restore for him - ya right - I'll get right to that. (It's in storage 4 now.)Now that my Daughter is old enough to drive, she has her eye on this one! It's gonna be a fight, as I want to pro-street the thing and then bracket race with it:) I am presently trying to get my 1985 Yamaha FZ750 up and running for the summer season - we'll see how it goes. This is the first bike that Yamaha made like this - liquid cooled 45º leaned forward I-4 that all their later race bikes were modelled after. It has only 1345km on it, but is rough thanks to the previous owner. It is also supposedly punched out to about 900cc by putting other Yamaha pistons and cylinder tubes on it. All in all it should make for a fast ride once I get her all together. (This one's on hold for now, too. Man - why aren't days 36 hours long with only 8 hrs sleep required?)If you are wondering why most of my car picks say - "I have one like this" and not actual pictures of MY cars - it's just cause I either don't have good pics of them, or because they are in pieces being worked on!! LOLWant to know more? Just ask! ......

Music:

I have loved singing for my whole life and have had the opportunity to sing in things from plays to choirs to church since grade school. Spent three years singing bass in a southern gospel quartet, too. What a blast! We had lots of fun touring around as well as singing locally. I love seeing God move in peoples lives through music! Copy and paste the following link to a new browser window to hear 'Love Can Build a Bridge' sung by me and the group along with two other songs we sang. http://www.esnips.com/web/JohnyTopazsglobalaccessfiles/ Check it out and get back 2 me with any comments, or requests 2 add more songs. No disses, pls - if you've ever recorded, U know it's a lot of hard work!! I have lead as many as 400 people in song, as well as come up with my own arrangements of old favoutites for choirs which I have lead... I mostly listen to todays country tunes, cause they don't wear me down, generally, and there is a lot of moral content - which is important to me. Used to listen to alot of acid rock when I was a teen but had tastes that ranged from classical to reggae to soft rock to hard rock - (but no country back then! - waaay too much Twaanngggg)

Movies:

More to life than the flicks - Much more... ... But while we're on the topic: Lord of the Rings trilogy, Star Wars the early three(dates me, doesn't it?)and tonnes of others. I'll update the list when I get to it.LOL

Television:

....
Creative SpiritzWhatever... Don't have much time for TV!...

Books:

The Bible, Chronicles of Narnia, Westerns, Mysteries, Car and Bike Magazines

Heroes:

Jesus Christ is my hero! Ya can't find one better! My grandparents on my mothers side: Oma went through a Japanese concentration camp in Indonesia with my mother and her bro, and later went on to smuggle Bibles behind the iron curtain; Opa was taken away by the Japanese and died of malaria and amoebic dysentery building the Burma road for them. Both were very devout, Godly, family oriented individuals.
