So it may not look it from this page but i actually joined the navy. Why? I believe the past can not be changed we have made mistakes as a country and put the lifes of iraqi civilians in our hands. The only thing to do now is help iraq build a goverment of thier own to protect thier civilians from terroism. I just feel like sitting around and flipping by the news and saying 'how sad' then flipping to some sitcom is not gonna take this country out of this situation. I am a peaceful person but as my freind toby says those who truely want peace should prepare for war. The unfortunate thing about peace is not everyone wants it. We can not ignore the threats of the world and the pain of less powerful nations. So that is why i decided to devote four years of my life to serving the will of this country who is right now trying to get our boys home without being held responsible for the thousands of iraqi lives that will be lost if we leave now. Tricky shit heh? Anyway I am proud to do something bigger than myself and help in the effort to end this war. Well, as my journey begins and continues I will post pics and blogs about what it like to go from tree huggin' hippie to full blown Sailor.
